    is there any windows based free webtexts to irish numbers that dont involve having to have a sim card with irish providers?

    In answer to the OP: I don't think so. I think that with SMS you need to have a number (and therefore sim) to send from. I suppose someone could provide that, but I don't see it happening.

    Here's an idea. You could get one of those free sims off o2 (are they still doing that?). Register it on the site (username/password) and still get their 350 free web texts a month. Maybe. Don't quote me.

    Not that I know of but if you get a SIM you can use Cabbage on a PC to send free texts

    This worked for me when I got one from O2 a couple of years ago. The main problem with this is that people reply to texts at the number received from. I have to keep this sim in an old phone as a result and you must also maintain a minimum balance to keep it alive. I use Cabbage too - great wee programme.
