Alternative setup for Sky multiroom due to UPC phoneline

I am looking for an alternative setup (TV etc) for my newly built playroom. I contacted SKY and a local installer and was told because I have a UPC phone line via broadband then I cannot get SKY multiroom without adding a second subscription.

So, bearing in mind it is for a kids playroom, I need to access kids channels and possible main channels when the missus is watching Cornation street etc. Budget is €600 with a tiny bit of wiggle room.

What I need: A new TV (32 is fine), LCD or LED.
Someway of getting SKY GO on to the TV

I was thinking internet enabled TV but I am unsure if any of them allow access to normal browser to get to SKY GO. Will also need Saorview for Irish channels (preference is to have this built in so less connections). I will have to forget about the BBC. It must get cartoon channel. I do not want to just connect a laptop via PC monitor connection.

Other devices available for doing this is XBOX360 and a PS3. But XBOX needs a sub every year which I might just have to pay. PS3 is not child friendly for this.

Is this possible and am I in the right forum ?

I have Sky multiroom and UPC phone through their modem. Works ok. Some have had difficulties in performing callbacks but others such as myself haven't. Do a search and you'll find lots of threads on this topic.

I have followed a good guide here putting the phone cable in to port one on the router etc but no success. I am thinking it may be the make of sky box. I have the PACE 3rd generation one. Could you do me a favour and go to "services", "system details" and tell me which 2 you have. It will be named PACE and will have an ID number (mine is 9F22....).

Don't think it should matter which box as its just a basic modem in them. My UPC router has worked with a Samsung HD box and the latest Sky HD box.

I presume you are set up for UPC phone? You need to use the same port as it.

Those are both newer boxes than mine with HD included.

Yes I have UPC phone and I tried splitting the port and also did a direct to box without a phone connection.
