What was your highlight of the last year?

Walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain on my own (well, the last section of it). Best thing I've ever done and will do it again. Only highlight really, pretty uneventful year apart from that.

well, if we're talking from this time last year, quitting my job to go on the dole (quit just before christmas)
if its just 2011, didnt really do much, at all...

I ninja punched an old boss of mine from years back in the face in a crowded pub while trying to get a drink..

He never knew what hit him...and more importantly who.

he was a horrible bully pr1ck who made co-workers cry while he drove away smiling in his top of the range beemer.

aah good times....I swore I'd get him and I stayed true to my word.

My 2 weeks in America were pretty amazing.
Oxegen was fantastic, even better to be paid to be there

Amsterdam was a really fun experience, pretty surreal.
Have had enough nights out to last me until 2020, but I'll go for more.

Its been a pretty good year actually!

-got back with himself after a very rough xmas break-up last year. Things are great since

-became friends with my brother who is a nice bit older and I never really got to know

-graduated

-moved to Dublin and got a job

-Dad went back to college (beaming with pride here!)

Getting to meet up with a mate of mine in early January who I hadn't seen for the best part of 8 years at the time. Last time I'd seen him he was in hospital getting his ass kicked by leukaemia which he had been suffering from for 6-8 months undiagnosed (GP at the time thought it was a really bad cold / flu).

It really was great to see him doing well, odd turn of events he's now training to be a professor of nursing and all the work he's doing, is in the oncology ward he speant a lot of time in when his family moved to Austrailia.

Highlights:
1) Spending the summer travelling around France, Spain & Belgium (incl meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in 3 years, spending 3 weeks in Paris and getting the best hot chocolate ever in Bruges)
2) Meeting two members of my favourite band, Rise Against (incl. one of my all-time heros) in November

Lowlight:
Getting caught up in the Pukkelpop disaster in Belgium, never been so scared in my life!

2011 was really up in the top 5 of the crappiest years of the last 18 crap ones.

Seemed every time I mite be able to get somewhere I got pulled back to a worse place. :-(

But there have been some highlights:

1. Roddy Collins becoming the saviour of Monaghan United.
2. Beating Shelbourne in Tolka.....twice!
3. Finally getting promoted to the Premier Division.
4. Roddy staying as the saviour of the Mons
5. The Stone Roses reforming.

Hopefully my mad eccentric eclectic family will make Christmas amazing as usual and despite all the poop I have to face in 2012, I will go into it with optimism.
