Maybe do the same as we did with signing Glen Johnson (write off the money owed on Crouch)

They may owe us money for Meireles.

20million is 20million at the end of the day, I just feel that if the wages are suitable that we should take a punt. Provided management were confident his head was right.

I just wouldn't employ the attitude "he made his bed, let him sleep in it".

A loan deal would be ideal, but its not going to happen. The way I look at it, he improves our First XI immediately.

Not sayign I'm against it, just think it would be expensive. And hope
fully with a clause in the contract that makes it difficuly to ask for a transfer request 48 hours before a transfer window closes.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Ive seen Villa live a few times this season and they look awful going forward. Ive rarely seen a team offer as little, plus they are missing Agbonglahor.

Would fully expect a 0-0 draw so! :P

You are dropping points because of your poor finishing, not because of an inanimate object.

Blame it on your finishing and not the woodwork for a change.

Villa have been extremely poor this season, offensively as you say they are so limited.

3 points is crucial tomorrow with Newcastle, Chelsea and potentially City/Arsenal all dropping points. We have to start making ground when these opportunities present themselves.

He didn't blame it on the woodwork

No I wasn't, as Ive said elsewhere already. We can discuss today's game in the Chelsea thread if you like, I wouldn't want to drag this one off topic.

He insinuated the woodwork is the problem, when in reality it's Liverpool's inept finishing.

Ahh Willy dont be reading between the lines .

I'm sure Suarez will be up for it tomorrow and our luck changes .

    That's all .

    Simples !

FWIW, I completely agree with you regarding where the problem lies, however he clearly stated ''I just hope we dont hit the woodwork''. That's not blaming the woodwork, saying we don't hit implies the problem isn't the woodwork, its the finishing

Really? Did you really not understand his point?
    Had he said:
"I just hope we dont keep shooting wide then we should win"

Would you have taken that he is blaming the empty space around the goal for 'pool losing?

His point was obviously that we need to be on target more.

Anyone seen much of Jordan Rhodes this season? 17 goals already in League 1, only 21, wonder would he be worth a punt?

I do blame the woodwork, cheeky fecker darting this way and that, more mobile than Andy Carroll. :pac:

    .

Anyone like Aphex Twin? Come To Daddy is a cracking tune, but I think I prefer Windowlicker.

And he has something in common with ex Liverpool player Steve Finnan, and King Kess. Mr Aphex Twin himself Richard D James was born in Limerick.

    Confirmed Team

Reina; Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique; Downing, Adam, Henderson, Shelvey; Bellamy, Suarez.

    Shelvey and bellamy <3

That is an extremely attacking team!

That team...wow. Extremely attacking. Very interesting to see how it works.

Hopefully it works well!! Its nice to see shelvey back especially after the way hes been playing for blackpool.

I feel more confident of scoring while bellamy is in the line up!

Buxton reckons its Shelvey on the wing. Can't see it myself, should be Bellamy and Downing there and Shelvey sitting behind Suarez.

Thats exactly where he played for blackpool, in an attacking midfielder role!

Shelvey started for Blackpool in midfield but was quickly moved by Holloway as he was found to lack defensive discipline. He was moved to the wing in a front three or on the wing as part of a 442. While the wing was his position he was given licence to roam.

Yeah thats where i ment, an attacking role on the right where he would cut inside. He single handily destroyed leeds last month.

Good to see Bellamy start...would have liked to see Maxi in there too, and the team sheet still looks wrong without Lucas. :(

Nonsense, our keeper destroyed us in that game.

Professional performance, another goal or two would not have over egged the result. I liked
that spell where Villa were reduced to a few dozen sideways passes you never felt they would find a way through and they didn't. I wouldn't have been so confident even under Rafa in that respect. Steve Clarke, with Agger and Skrtel in the middle doing great things.

Carra must know his time is nearly up.

Mike, I think Carra did something to you in a past life. You seem to be obsessed with him !!
