I'd have Torres back in a heartbeat, for 20 million provided he took a cut in wages.

Torres still has the talent the only worry is whether he has the heart for it. He is really at his best when he feels loved and when he loves his surroundings.

AVB sees him everyday and you have got to think he reckons Torres isn't putting in the work, hence he just doesn't trust him.

I just wonder would Kenny be able to light the fire underneath him and get him firing again.

All the rubbish about him being shot due to injuries is just that, rubbish. He still has all the physical tools, his head is just not right. The lying down after tackles, the whinging and moaning, the petulance.

When Torres first arrived he was bustling central defenders out of it, getting knocked over and bouncing straight back up. He needs to find that mindset again.

For 20million (and decent wages) i'd take a chance. If the chance presents itself and Kenny is confident his head is right again i reckon we should swallow our pride and let the lad come home.

20 mill though is an expensive punt...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

How is Morgan coming along lads? Is he close to the first team yet? What's his chances of breaking through in the next 12-18 months?

Maybe do the same as we did with signing Glen Johnson (write off the money owed on Crouch)

They may owe us money for Meireles.

20million is 20million at the end of the day, I just feel that if the wages are suitable that we should take a punt. Provided management were confident his head was right.

I just wouldn't employ the attitude "he made his bed, let him sleep in it".

A loan deal would be ideal, but its not going to happen. The way I look at it, he improves our First XI immediately.

Morgan is still most comfortable at youth level, played some games at reserve level but not nearly as big an impact was made.

Not a criticism but he will need time.

How do you know this? I think you're letting your heart rule your head.

Torres was loved at Anfield and was awful in his last season the left us in the lurch and fecked off to Chelski. I think he is the past, and we should spend £20m elsewhere.

He was awful because we were shit. Kenny got him scoring in January.

Drenthe wouldn't be a bad signing for us.

Contract runs out in the summer.

He'd be a brilliant signing, though I think its unlikely given he's at Everton at the moment

Drenthe needs to play every week though, otherwise he is trouble. He is good but not a potential first teamer week in week out.

Quite sick of us signing players who are seen as good "options" depending on the game. Liverpool need to sign quality that will strengthen the first XI whatever the opposition. The players we have in the first XI who may not be top level players can be the ones to act as squad players.

No point having 2 decent left wingers, lets just go out and buy an undisputed excellent one and let the existing left winger provide the competition. Hypothetically speaking.

Thats how you move forward. Improve significantly on what you have got.

I agree, but I do think Drenthe would be good enough for the level being aspired towards, particularly as signing him on a free would leave funds to sort out other areas. Irrelevant though, he won't leave Everton for Liverpool

This notion that he was awful is absolutely absurd - it is absolute horse**** actually.

He scored 9 PL goals in 22 starts for us the season he left and 18 goals in 20 starts the season before.

Granted, he wasn't the same player as he was in his first two seasons at the club but he was far from bad. Put him in front of goal with the ball and more often than not, he put it in the net.

    .

Spot on. That seemingly obvious take on things is something that has been lost on many of our managers for the last 13 or so years.

Thats right. The excuse used for him being below par for the last season with us was that he was not happy at Anfield at that stage. He got his big move to Chelsea yet he hasnt made it. He looks disinterested half the time there too, even when he does get to play
Personally I thonk he might go to Barca at the end of this season. Cant see him wanting to come back to us at any rate

Yes we need to spend big to bring in proper wingers.

It'd be no harm having him there as a squad player though.

I think we are playing Wigan next so maybe we are just having a look, although with DC in tow, I wonder if we are having a sneaky look at McCarthy

Have to say though, never been at all impressed with McCarthy when I have seen him.

Didier Drogba maybe??? seemingly available at the end of the season isn't he?

    ;)

We play Wigan in 4 days lads, helloooooooooooooo? :)

Rodalega's contract is up in the summer i think, decent catch on free?, i dunno would he be happy with squad rotation though.

Wigan played very well today. Hopefully they used up all their beans and are wrecked by Wednesday :-/

He is decent but I just don't think he improves us enough to the level we want. If we are going to sign a striker i'd hope it would be someone who can take us to the next level.

The likes of Rodellega signing is only going to clog up the squad. More first teamers please.

A Gary Mac style bosman transfer would not be bad though.

    Didier Drogba anyone?
