Problem Updating HTC Desire HD

I got notification today about an over the air update for my HTC Desire HD. From what I can see it's Sense 3.0 and a few other tweaks. It's over 220mbs in size.

The update downloads no bother over WiFi and when I go to install it, the phone powers off and the installation screen comes on and the installation begins. However, about a third the way through the installation stops and an image of a phone with a red exclamation symbol in a triangle is static on the screen.

To start the phone again I either have to take out the battery and put it back in or use the Power & Volume button to bring up the menu from which if I choose Install update from sdcard, the update doesn't install and the phone just reboots and the phone runs as it was.

I've tried leaving the phone on the static screen for over half an hour but nothing happens.

I'm on the Vodafone network, by the way and the phone is not rooted. Any ideas what the problem might be or is there something I can do to get it to install?

    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately not. I emailed HTC, who, in fairness to them, emailed me back quite quickly and they told me to do a factory reset and format the SD card and they said that would work. It didn't work for me so they asked me to send it to their repair centre as they said it may be faulty. So I've sent it in to them.

Hey, thanks for quick reply. Not really the response I was looking for :) This is a brand new replacement phone that I just got today. Could you let me know how you get on?

    Thanks
