HTC Desire HD System upgrade

    Just got the HTC Desire HD update.
    Android 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 3.0
    The swipe to unlock is gone because of the crazy Apple patent.
    Like the improvement to messages. Interesting swirly stuff when you go from screen to screen, useless but younger folk will find it cool.
    new android Gallery didn't work, so dumped it and replaced with older version that was still listed in apps. Not sure what was going on there.
    So far, everything seems to work!

    Did you get this OTA or did you install yourself for XDA.. i have been waiting a while for the OTA release but when i check for updates it says there are none for my phone. Does anyone know if this has been officially released yet?

    Wife got this update on her hd last night.
    She likes the difference so far.
    Btw it notified her after shd had rebooted her phone. Phone is simfree bought in the uk.

    Thanks, What network are you on? I have been going online searching for updates on Vodafone and it tells me my software is up to date.

    Its still a meteor phone even if you've sim unlocked it so you won't get an update unless meteor release it.
    Manually do it, all you need is on XDA developers

    Interested in this thread. I am on meteor billpay HTC desire HD. I am still on build 2.2. My friend on three network with the same phone got an update about 6 months ago. There was a couple of threads about this on the meteor forum but can't seem to access any of them now. Very poor on meteors part that they still have not released the update. Any one have any information?

    Vodafone. Was pushed to me. Didn't search for updates. Just to clarify I have Desire HD, Android 2.3.5 HTC Sense 3.0 Software number 3.13.161.3

    I don't suppose it does, got my previous update (2.3.3) around midnight. Based on what i've read, HTCs doing it by batches depending on the network and phone's serial (or IMEI). Can't wait for the update.

    If still no luck til tomorrow, might resort to using the RUU. :D

    Same issue here. I'm on THREE, I contact THREE Repres. about update:


    "do we know any information about new SENSE update for HTC DESIRE HD in THREE?

    Today I received reply: "We released 2.3.5 on Desire HD on December 9th. If you need any help with the update, let me know."


    Obviously I have problem with it, coz through OTA I do not find any updates. Weird!
    Anybody from THREE have the same issue ?

    I'm with Meteor but bought an unlocked HD on Adverts.ie. Still no sign of the upgrade. Probably not point contacting Meteor right? Or do they still have a say as to when the upgrade will be passed on?

    There may be an issue with mail and messaging reporting.

    Yesterday I checked mail on the phone. As usual, read the mail and deleted (picked up by home pc). Icon for mail still showed 1 mail unread. It stayed stubbornly at 1 despite my checking mail several time and finding no mail. Eventually, I quit all running processes and it disappeared.

    Then yesterday, sent a text. This morning only saw a report that I had a reply a minute later. Now this might be a network issue.

    Ok so I spoke to someone at Meteor and he claims that because my phone is unlocked, it's HTC I have an issue with :(

    Hmmmmm maybe I'll give THEM a call lol

    I understand that you are inquiring about updates for your HTC desire HD. All updates will be a over the air update only. As these updates can not be sent to all devices at once it is sent out on what is known as a rolling server and will be sent out over a period of time. If you manually search for this update and your device dose not fined the update then please do not worry as the update would not have been sent to your device yet. You can manually search for updates buy following these steps.

    From the home screen tap menu tap settings tap about phone tap software updates tap check for updates

    Guess I'll be waiting so

    My DHD is locked by THREE..

    Btw, dunno why HTC do not offer update firmware headset different ways, eg. just download firmware from their webpage and copy into SD and install it..

    grrrrr...

    None here either. When I got it last time it was only after cleaning down some different caches. I'll try this if nothing happens in the near future. If that fails I'll just do it manually.

    Couldn't wait for the OTA update any longer... I've eventually decided to use the RUU and it went well. I'm happy with my new DHD (well, with the new update that is... :D)

    Kudos to the guys who uploaded the RUU and posted it here!

    My wifes HTC Wildfire S (on Meteor) got the update to Android 2.3.5 today but Sense is still at 2.1.

    I have a Desire S also on Meteor but no sign of any updates for mine............

    Downloaded last night, impressed so far. Like having a new phone again. I seriously love this phone even after a whole year of using it. Keeps coming up with new ways for me to enjoy it :)
