best place to buy foreign currency?

where do you get the best rates when buting foreign currency (i'm looking to buy dollars). I assume the banks give the best rates? Do all the banks differ slightly? i see the rate is 1.30 today but the bank are only giving 1.26. Is there anyway of getting a better deal on dollars?

1.3 is the market rate. Your buying at the retail rate so won't get that. You won't be able to buy today at 1.3. Banks or post office are usually the best.
