If the report is accurate and confirmed,,it is serious.

BUT it could also mean it is to late to act. In that IF CO2 is causing current global warming there is enough in the atmosphere to melt some of the methane sulphonates in the Arctic. But the twist is the CO2 in the atmosphere will be around for 100 years. So it doesn't matter if we put more in.

So it doesn't really matter, lets just eat drink and be merry and let us all run our tumble driers empty all day tomorrow.

A variety of clean air acts and just improved technology meant that So2 emissions have dropped hugely, something close to 65% in the US. It's still a big issue in Sweden which still receives most of the Ruhr Valley pollution which has 'killed' life in many Swedish lakes. It's a similar story in Czech Republic. On the whole though acid rain isn't a significant problem in Europe and North America anymore.
