Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Last week in the cold snap typical river was 4-5 degrees.

Sea surface temperatures around Ireland are about 11C on average at the moment.

I'd imagine river water would be significantly cooler than that most of the time in December.

River water is definately colder at this time of year; the sea is a larger body of water and takes longer to adjust the overall temperature, whereas the rivers are smaller volumes which are more affected by the surrounding temperatures i.e. sun (lol), air temperature and ground temperature
