Hairspray - Clip in ponytail - Can I brush it??

As the title suggests.. I've bought myself a clip-in ponytail to wear to a party next week but it's gone a bit shabby looking since I've been trying it on and experimenting with it since buying it :o Can I brush it? As the title suggests..

I imagine it would be fine if you carefully brush each individual curl, rather than pull the brush through the whole ponytail at once. When you've brushed the tangles out of each curl, wrap it around your hand and allow it to spring loose naturally, that will help keep it in place.
