hi guys i need to transfer about 6000 euro to my barclays account in the UK.
I was thinking that perhaps using a transfer company like transfermate.com might be cheaper than calling in bank of ireland and getting them to do it?
What are peoples thoughts on this? would people agree that a company is cheaper that the bank?
    any info appreciated.

From experience - you will almost always get a worse rate from the banks - and they will add on fees etc.
Just ask them how much you will get in Pounds and how much the fees etc will be then compare with the other broker etc.
    The difference on 6k might not be massive - 20 or 30 € ?
