I think you have to play Kuyt in the side with Spearing and Lucas both out. His work rate will somewhat compensate for the lack of solidity in the centre.

Was thinking that myself or if after the sending of is anything to go by, go attacking and I'd put him up front, with Suarez in the hole. More chance of goals anyway.

Downing can also play CM but again it isn't going to be as solid defensively.

    Something like:
    Reina
    Johnson -- Skrtel -- Agger -- Enrique

    Adam --- Henderson ---- Downing
    Suarez -- Bellamy
    Kuyt
The old 3-5-2 makes perfect sense as well with the options available.

Bellamy shouldn't have been booked obviously, but Dempsey hardly warranted a red. He goaded Bellamy, that's about it. My point is why not just charge players who warrant charging, instead of ridiculously charging the likes of Suarez and Dempsey for nothing incidents?

As I said, a common sense approach should be the aim, as oppose to a situation where every time someone curses or makes a gesture they're out for a few games

Going back to Bellamy, I'd be happier to get beaten and him have reacted as he did then to get a point and him to have gone down ala Skrtel to get Dempsey sent off

    We're on the same side.

All i'm looking for is consistency.

Bellers got booked for nothing which forced Kenny into taking him off, which in turn fcuked us right up.

Imo Suraez was an idiot for doing what he done.

I know he gets it in the neck from rival fans, but he needs to just let it bounce off him before he gets himself into more trouble.

I often stick my head in here to pick up some team news, and I can never quite tell if this is a Liverpool thread or a "let's compare ourselves to United and moan about them getting away with things" thread.

Every fan of every team feels victimised, and bigger clubs often get the blame... but my goodness, the amount of United posts in here is crazy.

Rooney is a twit most of the time, yes... and probably a horrible human being, but whether he's swore at a ref or beat up your granny, or whether or not the entire United team are conspiring terrorists, Suarez's many investigations will not be effected, and clubs will continue to be warned against surrounding referees whenever it suits the FA.

It's an FA thing. A FIFA thing. A football thing. What happens in one red jersey doesn't effect what happens in another.

    Id go

    reina
    Kelly
    Srktel---Agger
    Enrique
    Johnson--Henderson-Adam
    Maxi
    Shelvey

    Suarez

There should be goals somewhere between Maxi, Suarez and Shelvey, Johnson could definitely work as a RM and has played there on occasion with success with Portsmouth.

I do like the idea of Kuyt up top as well, he may not be the most skillful but he knows where the net is(usually) and hasnt played up front yet this season. Need to do something different

I don't think a booking should force a substitution though, and if it did force Kenny's hand, that's as much Bellamy's fault for pushing on for a second (booking) and necessitating a change as it is the ref's for unjustly booking him initially, but unfair bookings happen all the time, that's just life

Regarding Suarez, I agree, he shouldn't have responded as he did. For a man who's played at places like Goodison for Liverpool, and Feyenoord for Ajax, he should be well used to coping with abuse, particularly from as relatively tame a place as Craven Cottege

Strange this the last few days. Mark Lawernson had a customary dig at Rafa when commentating on the Chelsea match last night, and Ken Early had a random pop on Off the Ball the other night

I think I know what you mean, but I don't believe one teams scenarios should affect another, but rather just be treated the same as another, as long as the comparison used is that of when the FA got it right.

I think the FA should do all they can to make sure each team gets similar treatment after similar offences, of course, but the whole anti-United thing just dumbs down the argument, IMO. One could just as well post similar pictures of Hereford players or West Brom players... it would be equally pointless as far as I'm concerned.

Demanding to "get away with it" because another team/player got away with it just doesn't cut it for me.

consistency is what we are looking for, Ashley Cole was also mentioned, why didn't you mention that.

    What, touching heads?

I fully agree that charging Suarez for this is a joke, but it should be a case of arguing for him not to be charged, as oppose to arguing for others guilty of similarly ridiculous incidents to be charged also

I disagree. The argument shouldn't be for a or against Luis getting charged or not, it should be for equal treatment in the game. Suarez has been very contreversial since he has arrived, sure, but he shouldnt be judged harsher because of thisimo. The same fate that befell others in the english game who have done the same should be the fate of Suarez now. It is not. He is being victimised. It is my strong feeling that if he were english....well i'm sure everyone here knows the end of that sentence!

Because the giant picture that took me off guard when I clicked into the thread wasn't of Ashley Cole. Also because Ashley Cole isn't mentioned a bunch of times a day.

I'm really getting disillusioned with the EPL ?

The sooner there is a revolution in the game the better methinks at this stage.

Of course he shouldn't be dealt with any harsher then others, but this incident aside, the harsh treatment he has received has been at the hands of the media as oppose to the FA.

Obviously we all want to see consistency, but that argument for consistency should be made around Suarez not getting charged, as oppose to Rooney, Cole, Utd etc all getting charged too, because charging them would also be ridiculous.

Its like complaining about Suarez's offside goal the other night, and demanding that all other onside goals be also ruled out so as to achieve consistency

I would also like to say I find the "failing to control your players" charge to be very surprising based on what I saw on Monday.

Kuyt will score goals, not prolifically but looking at Suarez and Carroll.........

I suppose the argument against is you lose the protection on the right wing but we don't really have great options on the right, unless go 3-5-2.

It isn't about FA being pro-United/Chelsea/whoever or anti-Liverpool/etc (they're neither we hope) - this is about a worrying lack of consistency. I's totally unfair.

That was posted as a reference.

The way that Streller lad was tonight is the exact sort of player I want big Andy to be. Held the ball up brilliantly and brought others into the game.

Commented in another thread how impressed I was with him. Excellent technique, first touch and dribbling ability. He did make some bad decisions when in good positions but is only 20 so I think that can be forgiven. Also he is built like a monster for his age so should be well able to handle the physical demands of the premiership.

The cat is out of the bag now though. Jen Chang said Basel couldn't find a buyer when they were selling him in Jan for 5mill.

Careful now, I suggested him a month or so ago and had a reply or two along the lines of him being one of my bundesliga no hopers (funny given that he does not play in that league). :D

He had been decidedly ordinary when asked to step up a level in the champions league from when I have watched him.
