    Hi all,

sorry if i posted this in the wrong category, surely admins will amend accordingly

Anyway i wanted to share my experience on buying a computer monitor in Harvey Norman. I recently went in to their building on blanch shopping center looking for a computer monitor with decent specs. Ideally i was looking for min 24 inch screen and lowes response times possible as i wanted this for gaming.

After a while i found this Acer GD245HQ standing on the shelf, displaying "BIG CHRISTMAS DEALS" of some sort on the screen, also the monitor itself had been partially covered with other paper ads.

So i said i want this monitor as long as its 120 hz cause i think this one has it. The assistant has shown his commitment by finding this on spec list of the monitor. Can't say he found it instantly, but after a while he did and I was ready to buy this thing.

Before we proceed to the tills he advised that this is the last one unfortunately, so i asked for how long has it been standing on the shelf, he said two months only.

So we agreed on 30 euro discount and I was ready to go. I bought this screen for 300 euros with 1 year warranty.

After I got home it turned out that the screen shows whiteness at the bootom of the screen when displaying black coloured scenes. At the beginning I couldn't be bothered but now I'm actually thinking to give it back as I hoped it will dissapear after few days of normal use, I also tought that this might be just a matter of degaussing the screen and all would be grand. After 2 weeks the whiteness is still there and I'd like to give the screen back.

Now my question is am I liable for a refund if i agreed on discounted price?

the discounted price should not affect the warranty. As you have a 1yr warranty you should be entitled to a repair or replacement and failing that a refund.
