Alternative to Ulster Bank for UK non-resident a/c?

I recently looked into opening a non-resident account in the UK. Currently Ulster Bank seem to be the only game in town, but their Non-Resident Instant account had a very low rate of interest (1.2%). Can anyone recommend any other NI based non-resident financial institutions/products?

HSBC offer an expat account.

As far as I remember you have to be a UK resident to open a UK bank account.

If you look around for off-shore account offerings from UK banks you should find some options. What do you want the account for - might help with answers.
