The bookies would have Chelsea favorites ahead of Spurs to finish in the top 4 tbh. Spurs have been very very lucky with regards getting little or no injuries to their first choice starting 11.(which is a very good first 11)

I would be very surprised to see them continue in their current form for the rest of the season, I think they'll slide but should get top 4 as they've put themselves in an excellent position.

A lot will depend on injuries and that's the same with Arsenal. I do think Chelsea have too much to finish outside the top 4.

I'd think so myself, just going on current form and the table, but yep it's early days yet, Newcastle will fall back, Spurs usually do and Arsenal to a degree. Chelsea would be the horses for courses choice but they are in transition. I don't think we are doing too bad, just Spurs and Arsenal are on a great run of form that can't continue.

I thought Carroll was okay, not Sunday league standard. If that was the case Bellamy, Adam, and Spearing would be the same.

I don't know, a lot of our play was down the left. Johnson never got into the game at all.

If someone was crazy enough to offer 15 million for carroll in jan, would we take it ,Everton or Stoke might like him

Newcastle may just take him again, I wouldn't rule it out.

We did play football tonight. Even though Carroll was on pitch, We never played to Carroll's strenghts thats for sure,Renia plays so casual of late, Not a care in the world, Care free calm approach
    .I'v noticed that this season,
Which is good, makes for good goalkeeping, but there is a time to be phased to just clear it. push it around for corner, like when your one man down away from home with 15 mins to go.

I actually thought we played alright, very attacking at times.

Henderson put in a good shift imo. He's impressing me more and more with every game.

Thought the red card was maybe harsh but when your feet are high the risk is always there to see a red card. 3 game ban now for Spearing.

The result is very disappointing but the way we are playing and the style of play is quality at times.

Carroll did ok, holding up the ball etc. Only thing lacking is goals from him.

This. Cannot believe that almost 12 months after we signed him, there are folk on here still making excuses/allowances for Carroll. He was almost completely ineffective, contributed nothing meaningful to the game and was rightfully subbed once again.
It's almost as if there are those who support Liverpool FC who refuse to countenance the fact that Carroll is a square peg in a round hole. It's not working unless Kenny can tweak things tactically and even then I'm not sure Carroll could adapt.
The minimum requirement is that he bullies his man week in/week out and he's a million miles away from even that.

Everton couldn't afford to pay 10% of that even.
i think darren bent is the obvious player to sign, good finisher & his pace & heading ability is good too

I couldn't take all the instances of that sign picture being posted again. Also, for some unquantifiable reason I don't want him in our team, same as I really didn't want us to sign Downing either.

He spilled a ball he was trying to catch. if he was diving to save it he'd a palmed it around the post. (ala stamford bridge 2 weeks ago) if he pushes that ball behind for a corner & they score then you know what would be said. He was pretty casual with his save after 4 minutes as well? Despite what happened tonight one player we don't have to worry about is Reina

He needs to be given until the Summer imo. It's inexplicable the fact he is'nt fit enough at the moment.

Must be hard not to do something like that after getting jeered all game but he really should know better.

Thanks. Silly if true but ffs it's just the middle finger. The public witch hunt against him is an absolute disgrace but he does himself no favours at all. I'd say he's getting fed up at this stage the English press usually get their man when they target him.

:D that article sounds photo shopped.
Dalglish, as ever, was supportive of Suarez afterwards.

    The shame!

I suppose we can use the "if your child isn't used to a few feck offs by now, football isn't for you" defence.

Great win for Liverp........... Oh wait...

Disappointed to have lost, typical **** again tho. Create loads of chances and convert none. I'm sick of it and I'm getting sick of Carroll. Would be happier to see him on the bench, at the local bus stop with he's bags packed and bus ticket bought at this stage. Still, I'll give him the rest of this season but I doubt much will change.
Henderson played well today, As said, he has put in a good shift for 2 games now. Looks like he is settling in nicely, in the center.

Either way, was only decided by one goal and most of the game we played pretty well, so some positives to take.

Not the end of the world like some people in this thread will no doubt claim.

There was a serious lack of Maxi out there tonight , what does this guy have to do to get a run out.

...to central midfield, where he should have been playing all along.

The highlighted bit just seemed unfinished to me ;)

It's a tough one this year alright but things will obviously change down the line,a tough run of games will come for everyone eventually which will lead to climbing and dropping all over the place.
One thing is for sure,it's going to make for an exciting April/May :)

I fear we could be out of it by may.

How many points off the pace do people think is too many?

So looking forward, no Lucas, Gerrard or Spearing!

Going to require a big change to formations, a very attacking one at that.

Lets hope so and I suppose were alot better off this year, financially, football wise and position in the table to make the push for 4th this year.

Wouldnt mind Agger be given that DM role with Coates drafted in CB. Maybe Kenny might revert to the 3-5-2 that worked well last season especially as we scored goals in abundance which is worryingly bad right now

I was gonna say that formation myself, worked nicely when used previously!
I can see Shelvey starting next game maybe..

Suarez won't be a Liverpool player long if he continues his controversial ways
