have a pumped DHW loop and which operates intermittently on a timer, have a choice between a grundfoss or wilo pump. Most other pumps in the house are grundfoss. Is one brand more reliable than the other? Experience or advice appreciated

They are both leading pump makers. I would happily buy/fit either.

I'd personally go with Wilo, because when ever I have had trouble with their product a replacement was given with very little hassle.

Since these pumps have long running times and last for many years look for an A-rated pump. Like for example

    I'm a Grundfos man myself.

I get the same hassle free replacement from my supplier for my Grundfos pump, but i recon thats my suppier rather than Grundfos.

Thanks fellas - just as I suspected. Just noticed another pump that was supposed to be Grundfos has been substituted for a Terrier - is this any lesser in quality than a grundfos in your expereince?

I ran a Pegler Terrier (yep, the blue one) in a sludgy system for ten years. It started to get noisy at that point so I replaced it as a precaution but i wouldn't describe it as a bad pump.

If I was in the market for a pump I'd give strong consideration to something like this:
