2009 Irish 2 euro coin - rare or not?

    On wikipedia it say only 30,063 were minted; this compares to millions for all the other years. Does anybody know if they are indeed rarer than the others? I read this a few months back and so kept my eyes peeled for them (must have checked the back of 95% or more of the 2 euro coins I've possessed since) and I have only come across one 2009 irish 2 euro, which I have sitting beside me!

    I'm afraid then that wikipedia is out of date on the mintage figures. I have the official figures here from the Central Bank (for the end of Sept. 2011) and there was a total of 4,873,415 2009 2 Euro coins, 3,812,908 of which were the commemorative EMU's, the rest normal harp issue.

    Something to keep in mind about mintage figures is that they are not final until the dies used to strike the coins have been discarded. Dies have a certain strike life and if they are still ok the mint here will continue using them often well into the following year. So they'll be still striking certain 2011 coins in 2012, they get the most out of the dies!
