I have the Philips master 4w led gu10s in my house and I'm well happy. Comparable light to the 50w and nice warm white output

I replaced 18 gu10 50watt halogen bulbs with 18 ecopal bulbs. Firstly the light after coming from Halogen was much more dull and not a nice change, but the 50w step down to 2w had me sold. 1.5 years later and I still hate the light off them. 4 have gone completely and at least two others are flickering. Funny thing is some dont work for a couple of months but then just start working again for a week or so, quite strange. I dont think its a connection issue because with the Halogen I didnt have any issue, they just went after 6 months or so. Really thinking of just going back to Halogen and being more vigilant with electricity usage :(.

Ya I had the same problem with Ecopal. Pity cause there Irish made.

    Same here .

I bought a bunch of lumenos and then got one ecopal just to check it out , a few days later I took it back , it just wasn't as good as the lumenos .

Still have the lumenos , about same , 2 years down the line , and they're working fine . Not as bright as the halgens , but you adjust , and before the kitchen was using 450w of power , now it's down to about 45w ... It's a no brainer ..

Before you go back to halogens , buy a couple of lumenos and see if they do the job .

I bought some 4w Phillips Master LED GU10's yesterday in Eurosales in Sandyford and they're on special there for €8.50 + VAT. They are as good as any LED GU10 I've seen. The box claims that they are equivalent to 35watts which seems accurate but they have a nice 2700k light which isnt too glarey and is ideal for living rooms.

I have about 8 different LED's in my house and I'm tending to avoid any with multiple led's. I'd tend to go for either the kind with one very bright led(such as the phillips) or another kind which has 3 bright leds...cant remember the brand at the moment.

@smithyseller - Have you cleaned the contacts on the light fittings where you're having the problem with lights going off and on again? Is it by any chance in an area where there is condensation (a kitchen or utility room)?
