An ever increasing number of artists' tablatures are being blocked on Ultimate-Guitar. Is this where corporate greed is taking us when we can't even learn a song.Fuck you corporate America I'll learn it by ear so or maybe you want to charge me for that privilige too?.

I just saw this as I'm mentally preparing myself to study Irish and I kinda have to sort of disagree, they have changed it, I mean the oral's worth 40% so that puts a bit more focus on Irish that might actually be somewhat useful, instead of putting so much focus on poetry and prose and that sort of thing. I mean, the course is still a bit silly, but tbf it's changed for the better in the last year or so.
Mmm, but then they had to go and ruin it by putting the sraith pictiuir in. Because if it doesn't involve rote learning in some form, what's the point.

This, so much. I thought the 40% was meant to encourage learning conversational Irish, not more stuff off by heart.

If it makes you feel any better, we were doing all salads in college yesterday and someone still managed to burn themselves.

I googled 'cut finger with ciabatta' to find some evidence that I am not the first person this has happened to. Apparently I am the first person this has happened to.

Didn't happen but oh well, life goes on and such...

@ the Irish talk: I like to think that the sraith pictiur are slightly more applicable to real life than Stair na Gaeilge or that sort of thing...although admittedly I will never need to know how to fail my driving test as Gaeilge...but *slightly*. :p

Send me a quick PM if you need any extra help with Irish. I've been giving grinds to college students for the last 3 weeks so looking at Leaving Cert stuff would be a welcome change! :D

Our Irish teacher has us just rote learning page after page of poetry answers. I'm just not arsed at this stage.

I'm meant to learn Motúcháin sa "Mo ghrá-sa (idir lúibíní)" anocht ach is cuma sa diabhal liom. Túgann sí an iomarca rúdaí dúínn agus cuireann sé isteach orm.
