I've always said Maxi was too good to shift on, any "fringe" player who can slot into the starting 11 and score pretty much every time is worth his weight in goals.

Note to Kenny, get the players to watch Maxi's finishing for the last 2,no need to hammer it.

Maxi was missing sitters last year too and Beardsley took time to settle in, Barnes and Aldo didn't.
Kenny Dalglish's record as Liverpool manager v Chelsea.

    Played 13. Won 10. Loss 0.

Good few managers out smarted there. Bates was fond of the chairmans vote of confidence.

Brilliant result tonight. We got the result, kept a cleansheet and we scored two all without Suarez.

Im very worried about Lucas though. Looks like hes done his knee. I myself am recovering from a torn ACL and the recovery is a long long road. You are talking 9 months.

He was limping before the final challenge with Mata so im hoping its not a torn cruciate as when I did mine, the moment it happened I was on the ground and couldnt walk for a good 3-4 minutes the pain was that bad. The challenge was very similar though (left knee bent inwards).

Could be strained medial which wouldnt be too bad but even at that we are still looking at weeks out if it is.

He has become such an important player. Will be a massive loss if hes out.

    Lol
"I am joining a team that is at the top level, there is not another level after Chelsea. Chelsea have the chance every season to win all the trophies that they play for, so when you have the chance to play in a team like this you cannot say no."

    Unlucky, Fernando.

The ultimate irony would be to wave goodbye to Torres as we pass him by into a Champions League spot just as he drops down to the Europa League!

You can see on Kennys face he is feeling Bellamys pain!

Bellamy done hes friend proud tonight, one hell of a performance under what must have been some severe mental anguish!

Craig Bellamy is an absolute professional. He did himself proud tonight (just like every other game he plays in). What a great game from him at a very difficult time. Love seeing his name in the starting 11. I didn't get to see the match, but I've seen the highlights. Henderson's ball for Bellamy was spot on. Hoping he can keep this decent run going and get a bit more confidence.

Such an awful time for probably his first injury for the club considering hes in the form of his life. Lets hope for the best but it doesnt look good esp as he couldnt runn it off :(

I thought Carroll was poor if I am honest. People seemed to have lowered expectation so low in regards to him that if he holds the ball up and actually manages to find a team mate with some of his passes then he has had a good game. Times tonight he did hold it up well and lay it off but instead of spinning to get into the box as soon as he released it, he stood like the cat that had got the cream admiring his good bit of play. I can't remember apart from the penalty during the match a time when he looked remotely close to scoring. Did he even have a shot on target ?

    Opr

I agree with this. If people see him chest the ball down and pass it on, or win a couple of headers they say hes had a good game, or showed 'excellent' hold up play. He didnt show excellent anything tonight apart from effort.

He was bought to score goals and as you said, he never looked close to scoring tonight. Its a real problem for Kenny as he simply doesn't suit the style of football that we play.

And tell him to shoot from time to time! Hes good to see that hes not greedy but the lad has missed out on some scoring chances recently by deciding pass instead of havin a go. Great to see hes getting confident now and ya can see hes got ability. Super ball onto bellamy lead up to the goal

Obviously very happy with the result, another very good away performance. Great to see the players who came in do so well - that will only keep the pressure firmly on the others. Having the semi on the horizon will help the players to keep the focus on the training ground aswell. There is some serious competition for the first eleven but another one or two in the forward/wing area are probably still needed.
All in all, very happy with the way things are going, if only we could get a few home wins now to push us higher up in the league.

Wonder will Stevie G be fit to face his cousin if we (hopefully) get Cardiff?

Recent history would nearly suggest we're better off getting Man City/Man United and staying away from the likes of Cardiff :D

So would a CM pairing on Henderson and Adam work or do yous reckon Kenny will look to Spearing for that bit of steel?

my preference would be to play all 3

I'd throw caution to the wind considering the level of our last three performances and go 4-4-2 with Maxi and Bellers on the wings, Hendo and Adam in the middle and Kuyt up-front with Suarez.

Everyone in there is interchangable to a degree, with the exception of Adam, and the Fulham defenders would not be able to get comfortbale with their marker with players swapping position every 15 minutes or so.

That team would wreak havoc I reckon.

What a ball from Bellamy though, Jan Molby would have been proud of that one.

It needs to be said again, what a signing Bellamy was. He shows up everytime he's asked.Love seeing him back in the red shirt, he's been fantastic since his return.

jesus, i dont like to over react about players and like to give them a chance but Carroll was absolutely awful and for such a big strong lad, he went down too easy on more than one occasion, he aint no suarez at making the most out of a tackle. Starting to look a bit too much like Robbie Keane for my liking, cant start him anymore unless suarez is out and even then, kuyt should start up top.

he needs to re-watch his EPL goals, newcastle and liverpool. wheres the striker that destroyed us in St.James Park? he is in there somewhere....
