Cant log into eircom modem/router

    I have a netopia 3347nwg modem/router. I am not able to log into it at 192.168.1.254. I am plugged into the modem through ethernet.

    It just says 'Problem loading page' and 'The connection was reset' in Firefox.

    I tried pinging that address and I get a reply.

    So any ideas why I cant log into this modem?

    I reset the modem and now I can log in so this can be closed.

    what does 'pinging' do? heard of it...but :confused:
