According to it's character wiki, this is the default T-1000 form before mimicing something. The wiki is here.

Also, on the description part of the T-1000 Wikipedia entry, it says:

High temperatures degrade its ability to maintain a disguise; after emerging from a burning truck, the T-1000 appeared in its default liquid-metal state and was only able to reestablish its policeman disguise after cooling for several seconds.

Only extremely high temperatures, such as molten steel used in the climax of T:2, are capable of disassociating its molecular structure and permanently destroying it.

He'd think about that but he's conditioned since he's born that the world of seahaven is the universe. He views the world in the way the creator wants him to see the world so he wouldn't have thought differently.

Shows like Big Brother puts different personalities in one setting and we get to see all these different personalities, in Truman Show we see 1 lads boring life everyday

The film doesn't question the voyeristic(sp?) nature of society, only the creator, however I think the movie should have focused more on societys morals watching a kid grow up in a prison for entertainment.

Ah, but it's the case that he doesn't actually synthesise flesh, he just shapeshifts and makes it look like he is flesh and blood, but he is not. He is still metal.

Does it actually say that in the film though? THey don't specify anything about his outer layer when mimicing/in default robert patrick mode iirc. We never see him arrive, but it seems likely he looked like robert patrick when he arrived as he is a naked robert patrick before he kills the cop which means he had to be in human form to time travel which means his human form protects his metal insides in much the same way arnie's outer layer does.

The T-1000's default form would be a puddle. Possibly a high water content gives it a pass for time travel; or possibly this is an area where Cameron knew he was inviting wilful suspension of disbelief.

Perhaps. I'd love to find an answer somewhere because i'm almost certain that T-1000 is just liquid metal and can shift his shape into things he comes into contact with but doesn't change on a molecular level.

I reckon he woudn't have to change at a molecular level, he would just have the raw materials built in, he just pulls the outer layer inside the liquid metal when he needs to change etc. Pure speculation of course

Anyway, at one point John Connor asks The Terminator why he doesn't just become a bomb and blow himself up.

A good question (answered accordingly) but if the movie had've been made post 9/11 surely it would've been only 20 mins long.

T-1000 would've only had to strap a sh*t load of TNT to himself and blow himself up on one of the numerous times he's in he same room as JC!

^ Now that you mention it, surely the T-800 could have used his spare power source to blow the cr@p out of Sarah Connor at some point in the first movie. In T3 the same model is shown to have two extremely volatile batteries, one of which explodes pretty violently when removed.

True but I tend to think of T1 and T2 as completely seperate from the others. T3 and Salvation had no James Cameron involvement so they were just hacks manipulating the characters to make big bucks at the Box office.

T3 was a disgusting piece of trash!

Here's a kind-of plot hole in Back To The Future: what happened after Marty went "back to the future" at the end? His mother got married, and before long she had a kid who looked just like a young version of the Marty who disappeared. Wouldn't that be seen as just a little bit suspicious ..?

Superman reversing time to save Lois from being killed after the missile-induced mega-quake. He was able to save her, but surely that meant all the heroics he performed "first time round" were left undone this time. Ergo, tens of thousands were killed in the quake/dam burst etc.

it is on the other side isn't it? The t-rex comes from the paddock on the drivers side of the jeep - they go into the chasm on the passenger side of the jeep.

That's the least of BTTF's problems. None of the time travel in the film makes any sense. It's just a fun film that isn't meant to be thought about too much.

Nice one dude!

But I think I got a hold on this one, so yes present day Superman goes back in time to rescue Lois in the past but from this moment on Superman exists twice in the same time, .....the Superman who is already fixing all the disasters and the present day one who rescues Lois.

The past Superman disappears when he travels back in time to rescue Lois........ leaving only the present day Superman to continue on with the rescued Lois.

I watch far too many time travel films

The major one is in number 2. Biff in 2015 or whatever year it was, steals the almanac goes back to 1955 and gives book to younger version of himself. Unaware that anything is wrong they go back to 1985 which they then discover has dramatically altered because of Biff having the almanac and becoming rich. But then of course if that timeline was created by Old Bifgf giving young Biff the book, then how was Old Biff able to get back to the correct unaltered timeline to leave the DeLorean back in the correct place to be picked up by Marty and Doc. But I agree with the Prof about not taking it seriously.

In Drive at the start of the movie, the driver completes a getaway job

with a normal car that was tuned up to have 300 bhp which he abandons at the end of the chase.

Surely the cost of the car and the money gone into the kit means any money made from the getaway work is not worth it.
