Good result over all, should have won it though, some great reds performances. I'm not Andys biggest fan considering the price paid but I do think todays game was crying out for him. I'm sorry but I'm still undecided about King Kenny.....

With Dalglish its quite simple, the quality of the football has improved tenfold. There will be days when we are simply superb. and there will be days when we get caught on the break etc.... and we will be frustrated beyond belief.

Personally, I love the brand of football we play. I think champions league football will allow us take the next step. Attracting a better calibre of signing.

And with better players, Kenny's Liverpool will be far more dangerous. We passed city off the pitch for spells.

One thing I like about him is that he allows players to play their natural game. More often than not we are playing the ball forward rather than sideways and backwards.

we need upgrading in certain areas however, up front, wide right and possibly another attacking player capable of operating centrally off the striker.

I don't think we have seen even close to the best of Suarez yet, with like minded attackers as himself we can win trophies. But Champions League football is the absolute key, if we get there then the top players will come.

    Delighted with that performance.

    Committment was top class.

Lucas and Adam were fantastic once again.

    Unlucky not to win.

After two very tough opponents it was great to see Skrtel and Agger constantly passing the ball out of defence instead of aimless hoofing.

True. He's proving me wrong the last couple of games against considering that was against Chelsea and City! Props to him. I'll wait till he performs at a consistent level over the course of the season though before really making a judgement.

Those who've already condemned him as a flop will ignore simple facts like this. He well and was very unlucky that Hart made a worldie of a save. Game was crying out for him to come out at least around the 70 minute mark.

True, Kenny can be very conservative, which against City is understandable but with a very winnable series of games coming up, he needs to take a few more risks in the selections.

Adam has earned his place in the team at this stage. Its funny how the cheaper signings have settled in quicker which is a compliment to him, as very few had doubts about Bellamy or Enrique.

I thought Hendersons energy was a major factor in occupying Micah Richards who is a big attacking threat for City. Also helped negate the influence if Silva by cutting down the room available for him to receive the ball.

Any news on when Gerrard is back from injury?

    Norwich(h) 1-1
    Stoke(a) 2-1

Yeah but beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton away from home so all's not too bad.

Skrtel and Agger looking like the real deal as a CB partnership. Another very solid performance from both. This is great news for us.

Could be absolutely crucial to us this year.

    Please stay fit Agger

agger is as key as suarez and reina now because if he is out, carra is in and srktel is instantly down 50% in performance, agger/srktel just works...

If it was not for some brilliant saves from Joe Hart today it may well have been a 2 or 3 goal victory for us!

Were on the verge of really clicking as a team. Some of the movement and passing today was brilliant.

...you can throw in The Bosser aswell and you'll have the first 4 names onto the team sheet.

Lads, I don't want this to get in to a Carroll debate and I am not wumming but will something be done about the striker situation at Liverpool in January? I know it is early days for Carroll so am not ruling out him hitting form.
However I reckon ye have lost maybe 10pts from not taking chances this season so far.
Surely an extra goalscorer needs to be brought in???

Most definitly. Not having an out and out goalscorer has killed us this year, especially against the "smaller" teams.

Bringing Kenny back to the club is the best move for everyone. We are playing a nice pass and move game now and his signings of Adam and Enrique have been outstanding. Carroll and Henderson will improve given time i've no doubt only Downing imo is a bad signing.

I genuinely expect us to be challanging for the title within two years.

I wonder would Morgan make the step up? He seems to be scoring for fun in the reserves.

    Remember Neil Mellor?

His first full season in the reserves AFAIK. We do have Maxi and Bellamy, not out and out strikers though. If we do bring in one it makes it even harder to get Carroll game time.

Spending £35 Million on a striker and getting rid a year later? Meh. More of Chelsea getting rid of Torres.

What was Suarez doing here today?? Great player but lets himself down by stuff like this (and racist comments;))

Probably a bit early for Morgan yet. Physically I think he'd be dominated and it could end up setting him back. I think next year will be his chance.

I would like to see Eccleston get on the bench a bit though, now that he's back from his loan spell. Serious pace, composed finisher and looks to have built up physically.

Maybe he banged his head off the ground off camera as he went down?
