My Bichons feet hadn't been trimmed for a while and while walking him today I went through an area where the road has been resurfaced.

Now his feet are covered in the stuff! I trimmed what I could but was wondering what I should (if anything) use to remove the rest. It doesn't seem to be bothering him.

    Any ideas?

I reckon Liquid Paraffin would do the trick - by that I mean the stuff you get from the Vet which is really a type of mineral oil , do not use the stuff that gets used in oil lamps , heaters , etc.
On the other hand ( or paw - boomtissssh ) if its not bothering him then I wouldn't fret too much though watch out for him trying to lick it off.

Rub butter on his feet & it will get it off, always works for us anyway. Once you have all the tar dissolved you will need to wash his feet.

Vaseline is great:) we used to use it on the horses, rub on a blob leave it for the day if possible then it should come off :)
