JR of course, the original Soap bad guy.

Denis Hopper was probably the best at it in modern cinema, Blue Velvet is still shocking 25 years later and also True Romance, no redeeming characteristics whatsoever.

    Spaghetti Westerns as posted.

Robinson and Bogart did the sympathetic bad guy in the B&W's, De Niro in Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and the Mafia films. Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.

Robert Mitchum as mentioned is far superior to De Niro in Cape Fear though.
Ooh yes, Henry Fonda in Once Upon A Time In The West!

Yeah Mitchum played the role with more subtlety. His character in Night Of The Hunter!!!

Probably Rolf "Animal Killer" Harris. Love the way he's fooled 99% of his audience into thinking he actually likes animals.

It's the implied threat with just a glare and a stare! There's no need for the graphic depictions as the mind does it all!

Christopher Walken is pretty damn good at it, King of New York and True Romance again, where Hopper is the good guy for a change!

Sleepers was just damn creepy, a good few bad guys in it.

Real life, Idi Amin, Thatcher and Churchill!

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

Never liked Nicholson's Joker, always thought he was too calm, too rational, played the part like Jack Napier pretending to be nuts. Ledger's is one of the most twisted villains of all time, a genuine psycho.

Hey, look at my feet. You like those moccasins? Look in your closet; there's a pair for you. Don't like them? Then neither do I!

At the moment, in fiction, Nucky Thompson.

In reality, as blood thirsty fanatical nutcases go, i have to admit to a bizarre admiration for Osama Bin Laden. There aren't too many people out there who would willingly give up a life of luxury to live in a cave and fight for their beliefs. Do you think george bush, saviour of democracy, would have done that?
Don't get me wrong, i don't share his beliefs or support him in any way, but i certainly do admire his conviction.
