Connecting coax cable

    My dish is falling apart, so I'm getting a new one and moving it to another spot. The problem is 2 of the cables take a wierd route into the house and only appear at the back of the tv where they are needed. I've given them a little pull to see if I could attach a new cable onto them and fish it through but there is no budge on them.

    Is it possible to cut the coax just before it enters the house attach some new cable to it and send it on its way? It's pretty old cable, I can't see any markings on it. I'm guessing it's not even RG6 but it hasn't given me any trouble.

    If the old cable isn't causing you any problems now I'd just join a new cable to the existing one and run it to the new dish position. If it eventually has to be replaced you may have to reroute the new cable.

    Cheers for the replies, I'm getting 90% signal quality on them so it looks like it should be ok to just extend them.

    waterproof the joint well... (i have had trouble with water ingress even when using Self amalg tape)
