If the unspeakable were to happen, we have to change our formation. For all my support of Chamakh, it is blindingly obvious that 4-5-1 would not suit him / he is not good enough to be a lone striker. If it does come to it though I would be curious to see what would happen if we played Chamakh in front of the midfield / behind Park.

No matter what happens though, we would need two up front.

Has anyone here at any point this season thought, "Man if only we had Bendtner, he'd sort out this mess!"?
    No?
    Good riddance to him so.

and have at any point in the season has RVP been missing for a long period? no

he mightn't ever sort a mess out as you put it but atm neither will the other two. Look how much he(RVP) was missed against marseille at home - a game arsenal should be winning. OK they've won carling cup games without him but that was against bolton & shrewsbury.

Just wait until van Persie picks up his annual three month injury and then we'll need him back.

even for a few games depending on fixtures it could be bad, Arshavin might even end up playing there again ahead of the others

Last year Bendtner had chances to lead the line and never took them. He was too busy feeling sorry for himself. i dont see why you guys seem to think he'd, for reasons unknown, change this season. He was dead weight last year and I for one AM GLAD HE'S GONE.

I remember when Arshaivn played up top but can't remember his performance(s). But when he plays in a central role for Russia, he seems to be a completely different player. I'd imagine he'd be effective playing behind the striker but that would mean a change in formation at Arsenal, which i can't see happening...

I for one never want to see Bendtner in an Arsenal shirt again.

I'll genuinely be gobsmacked if we sign anyone in January.

I think we plainly just don't have the money.

Yeah, an injury to RVP though and I think we'd all agree that continuing with 4-3-3 would be a worrying prospect.

However, I don't buy the 'Arshavin would be much better deployed centrally' argument. He is amazing there for Russia but the last time I saw him play for Arsenal he missed a few 10 yard passes and at one stage rediculously backheeled the ball into touch.

Maybe a wide position doesn't suit him perfectly but there's far more wrong with his game than that.

Great stuff. I feel so dirty for visiting the Sun's website though.

Always noticed Rosicky with his slide tackles. The man is a machine still think Rosicky deserves a place in our best XI. I think in his age now he will be moved into the Song role.

I thought you supported Harchester United, not Arsenal:confused:

I said it in post before id rather see Ox start over walcott on some days :) Next game against Norwich? least has to be on the bench :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,778 ✭✭✭emergingstar

No way should the ox be starting over anyone, he has so much too learn esp the defensive side, leave him play the carling up and a few sub appearances, we might see more of him during the run in

If he keeps up this form and impresses in a few sub appearances over the next couple of months then he should be given a shot in January when gervinho is off galavanting across Africa.

I agree with both of you but I'd rather our depth at striker looked like:

    RVP---Bendtner---Chamakh---Park

    Instead of:

    RVP---Chamakh---Park---Gervinho/Walcott

As manager though, would you be willing to pay £57,000 p/w for that depth?
    I know I certainly wouldn't.

Joel Campbell scored against Spain tonight. Forgot all about him, he's scored a couple for Lorient too.

Am I right in saying he was shortlisted for some sort of kind of Young Player of the Year award? WTH??

Any reported injuries from the Internationals? It's a rarity to make it though without losing someone.

Cheap at twice the price, as Nick would probably tell you:

Right Ireland its been fantastic! Back to the arsenal now.

Interesting fact i noticed. None of our CBs conceded in the internationals they played, verm kos per, hell even djourou. Of course doesn't really mean much to arsenal as they are playing in another team but its encouraging to hear.

Sunderland's Nicklas Bendtner: I will not return to Arsenal after loan spell

What you gooners make a this? personally i dont care, he had his odd chance at arsenal and never took it :)
He wudnt get his place with Gervinho,RVP and walcott anyway :D

Over the years we've lost Henry, Petit, Overmars, Vieira, Toure, Adebayor, Flamini, Hleb, Bergkamp, Pires, Nasri and Cesc to name a few and the club has survived......but Bendyboots not coming back is a bridge just too far me thinks :p

I could never forgive Bendtner for the sitter he missed in the Nou Camp against Barca last year  Doubt any Arsenal fan will lose sleep over him leaving.

Looking forward to saturday against Norwich, its imperative we come away with 3 points to keep on the toes of the top 4.

So true, ever since that moment ive had no time for Nicklas Bendtner. Whats worse he probably didnt even think it was his own fault, probably blamed Jack Wilshere for giving him a good pass. Good riddance to him and I hope hes sold in the summer.

I thought the problem with Theo was that he was rushed in too deep too fast and stopped learning? I could be wrong.
