Sky+ Box & recording issues

    A strange one for you. I can watch Channel 109 with no issues most of the time. However, if I am recording something I get a "No Signal being received" message.

    If I stop the recording and try to view the channel I can see it no problem.

    Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?

    Affects other channels like 315, Itv2 in Other Channels to name another 2.

    you can not record any channels that are in 'other channels' .

    Have you got 2 cables from the dish to the sky box?

    if its a hd box .services,0,4 and channel down , should see the signal quality for both tuners.

    It's a standard + box. I know you can't record from other channels.

    Problem is that I can't watch certain channels when recording one other show but once the recording stops I can watch the channels again

    I do yes, sorry forgot to add that one!

    I checked the Signal Strength last night and input 1 was up between 90 anf 95 %. Signal 2 was lower though.

    In saying that, I was able to view Film4 while something was recording where usually I can't.

    check the Quality reading on both inputs, that's the important one,
    you may have to go onto the second screen to see the second input details

    Not at the TV now, but will check them later.

    The 2nd screen? Is this for a HD box?

    I don't know. but all the info isn't displayed on a hd box so you have to go to the second screen,
    all you need is the info on quality for both tuners.

    Not strictly true - you can record to external device e.g. DVD recorder via scart by tuning to the channel and setting manual recording. Obviously you can't use full Sky + facilities as channel is not on EPG but recording is possible. Pain is you have to keep the Sky+ box tuned to this one channel for duration of recording.

    It is true You CAN'T record onto the sky box(which is what the op was asking)

    you could also use a video recorder or a camera pointed at the tv for that matter. if you wanted but not what they asked about
