    Hello Lads.

I have the normal Sky + in my house. I was going to buy a Sky HD + box off adverts.ie, Can i just plug this in and it will work ok? Will i get the free bbc hd straight away or do i need to call sky after plugging in the box?

    Thanks for your help.

    Alan

U will need to call sky & have them pair the hd box with your card, hd sub is 15 euro a month unless there is an offer at the moment

I did exactly this recently. BBC1 HD is now available on 234. I don't have a HD subscription. You will need to call sky to pair your card with the box if you want to pause, rewind & record. It only took a few minutes to set up. I also have noticed an improvement in picture quality on the SD channels since I now connnect with a HDMI cable instead of scart.

Thanks. That is one of the main reasons i want to switch to the HD box. Scart quality is not the best and it's holding back my new telly!
