[CoD MW3] General News and Discussion

I have to say I noticed a good few of the negative comments are from people who obviously are BF3 fans. I played last night for the first time and have to say I think so far its the best COD I have played, its sharp and responsive which suits my game.
And yes I have been playing COD since the first game .
I found BF3 a chore to play very clunky controls . I

no matter how some people die they'll blame anything but themselves. lag/campers/overpowered guns/pure luck/hit boxes/crappy matchmaking blah blah. I got called a camper in a SND game by a guy I killed, I walked in a room and he walked in about 2 seconds later, I saw him, shot him. and got "fcking camper noob" I mean...really?

If I'm aiming at something like a choke point or domination flag and someone walks up behind me and shoots me in the back of the head, its not a sh1tty spawn, its me not paying attention or staying in one spot too long in a busy map.

So far to me yes but I've only played an hour. I havn't felt cheated by the game yet. Other than lag which I always have and terrible teammates since I play on my own but it's still alot of fun

i can see IW taking away rapid fire from the type 95, without rapid fire its a really good gun but not overpowered, but when u slap on rapid with a red dot the gun becomes very overpowered, hope they patch it :pac:

Terrible teammates is true, played a game of Kill Confirmed and lost 65-25(or thereabouts) because while guys were getting some kills, not many, but some, they barely ever tried to confirm them, I think I made 12 or so of the confirms from my team.

Cause generally I haven't seen that many unbalanced lobbies in BF3, hell I didn't even pick that up till after a good few days and still didn't see them. Also with the lack of kill streaks, perks etc having slightly unbalanced lobbies in BF3 doesn't skew the results as much

no the question should always be is it a good game? there is no point in limiting the question to whether it is a good COD game.

ye but that doesn't mean we should just ignore what else is out there. Rather then adding new ideas to make CoD better, maybe incorporating ideas that are already out there is a better option?

Some people here seem to have the idea that we if mention another FPS here we must be having a pop at CoD. Guess what we're not. We are just thinking how much better the game could be if some of the aspects that make other games great could be incorporated into CoD.

ye but this is the general MW3 thread and seen as though the game was only released yesterday this is the thread to discuss peoples views on the game. The game has to stand on it's on 2 feet in comparison to other recent games in the genre so limiting conversation to only allow comparisons to other CoD games is a bit stupid

And what's so wrong in comparing MW3 to another game? I'm fairly sure that doesn't count as an 'off topic' topic. The man is simply saying what he feels and he's entitled to.

It's one thing to compare games, it's another to constantly complain "Well this is not like this other game I play"

Saying one game is better, and then saying why the other one is flawed is stupid when they are both totally different game types

And I didn't say he couldn't talk about games, I was merely pointing out that people in the CoD forum DO talk about other games, we don't go over to other forums saying this is better, that is better!

I do seem to be getting killed a lot more from behind in this game but I'm blaming it on a lack of map knowledge for the moment. If it remains a problem then I'll go back to blaming the maps:P The main problem I have so far actually is that the maps are all samey, there's only one or two with any kind of large open spaces. I would have liked one or two like Afghan or Wasteland tbh, where there are two clear sides to the map so you know where you are. Not sure what it's called but the map with the fallen helicopter and minigun is my favourite so far.

There also seems to be a lot of areas in maps that could have been cut out and are totally irrelevant to the game. I'll again attribute this to the lack of map knowledge but in the likes of Outpost I don't think there's any need for the little bunker that gives whoever goes in the high ground and a huge advantage with only two entrances to cover...

Hi

Did anyone get to log on to register for the elite free pack on the Xbox as I tried to do it all last night and I keep getting an error, want to get it as it gives you double point for 2 Hrs. What else does it give you.

Also what is the benefit of paying for the full Elite pack, I know it says u get all the DLC released for the next year( one DLC release each Mt for the next 9 Mts), does that mean they are going to be one new map for the next 9 mts or could it mean u get the free DLC that is just a T-shirt for you avatar??

No it wasn't. Metacritic users cannot enter a score until the date of release now. That was changed earlier this year. Check the dates of the user reviews.

why does one franchise have to be better than the other or vise verse. We're all grown up here just take each game at its own merrits. Personally from the ones Iv played (disclaimer - I only plVyed 2 hours of MW3 at a friends house)

I think I enjoy MW3 for now. I never played MW2 but have watched my Boyfriend play it.

I loved Black Ops and although I like MW3 I feel the maps are all very similar. That could be because I only got the game yesterday and still need to get used to them.

I like the change from Blops though, the gameplay is faster, smoother and the graphics better - I don't think it's much different from MW2.

I don't find myself wanting to play for ages, maybe only a couple of games before I get bored. Kinda wishing we still had Blops so I could go between the two. Really enjoyed some of the maps on Blops.

Oh well, need to play a bit more before I can really say what I think of it

True. I think it was a bit of a come down tbh after enjoying campaign and Spec Ops missions and survival playing with Soby to finally get onto multiplayer to have that as my first experience on MW3. Brought back some bad memories of the first hour or two of MW2 for me with my mates playing Ground War. They'll all took to the game instantly, while I was there grumbling into my mic thinking back already to COD4 :pac: MW2 was the only time I really jumped the gun and hated, my original thought was validated in the long run I feel but I'll certainly give MW3 some time before properly hating on it.

I do worry with the amount of assassin users. BOPS was so much fun when not in a ghost filled lobby, but it became rarer and rare to find such lobbies.
