That second hand car you are about to buy is most definitely clocked by about 30,000 miles and that petrol you are buying is coming from a modified pump giving you less petrol per litre than advertised on the price list...

I don't often see such a well thought out thread with great info and data to back it up.
    Great! thanks.

Meh I bought mine in Japan with a full service history and set of shakens(Jap NCT only way tougher) so I'm good. But yea a lot of second hand cars in this country are dodgy. It's not even illegal to clock em.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Don't drink petrol unless you're REALLY thirsty.

Learned that one the hard way.

Don't lift up the car so it runs out, use a straw in the tank. Also don't have a cool refreshing cigarette directly after.

Can't lift up cars , have now straws and don't smoke. Alas a petrol drinking life is not for me.

Push rice crispies into the threads of your tires for that posh gravel drive sound.

Save money on expensive customised license plates by simply changing your name to match your current plate.

You don't want to get caught by a panda where it's deep.

How does the pump know that someone isn't filling a graduated measuring container?

    Motors for anything car related.

Btw, a Dub garage was convicted for under-measuring petrol recently so that's true.
    Dealers caught clocking cars:
    *Favourite Motors Limited, Limerick
*Mark Leonard, Drumbulcan, Irvinestown - actually sold a car to a friend of mine. At the time we didn't know he was clocking.
    *Malcolm McGarrity, Newtownards Road, Belfast
*Arch Motors Ltd, of Westside, Galway
    *Feltrim Motors Ltd, Ashbourne, Meath
More if you google and even more not caught yet.
