    Hi,
I am scratching my head over this one.
I currently have a 09 320d and i am thinking of upgrading before it de-values too much.
I can get a brand new Volvo S60 D3 R-Design for 2012 for 13k with my own, they are offering 22k for my 320d.
I can also get a 2011 320d Sport Plus Edition with 8k miles in Belfast for 11k if i sell my 320d privately.

What to do, i like the volvo and its looks, i would like to get the 2012 320d but its too expensive.
Any suggestions, opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

If your prime worry is depreciation you should avoid the following
A.) buying a new car after 2 years it hasn't done depreciating yet
B.) buying a 3 series when a new one has been announced and prices are actually on BMW Ireland's configurator
C.) buying a car in new car in November!

How do people rate the Volvo S60 R Design?
It would be a 2012 i would be getting.
    Thanks

you're worried about your existing 320d devalueing too much over the next couple of yrs but I would think that you will see a bigger hit in devaluation in the next 2-3yrs if you replaced it with a new Volvo.

    I'm driving a D3 S60 with a different trim.

The engine is fantastic and the car is very comfortable on decent roads, on rough roads it is a little unsettled.

The handling isn't as quite as sharp or dynamic as a 3 series but on dual carriageways it eats up the miles and it a great cruiser.

If your main concern is protecting against depreciation, changing to a 2011 BMW or Volvo would be lunacy
