    Hi All,

Got married in Vegas last month :D

What do I need to do now I'm home? I got some leaflets from the minister on the day of the ceremony but I'm not exactly sure what it is I need to do?

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks,

    Tilly!

You need your marriage cert. That's all as far as I know.

Let the tax office know, just write a letter saying that you with ppsn 1234567A married him with ppsn 7654321B on whatever date it was.
    And Congrats!

When you get home from getting married you send a letter to the Revenue quoting both your PPS numbers advising them that you are now married and how you want your tax treated - i.e. seperate or joint assessment or seperately. You can call them to discuss if you want. There's no rush either, I did it a year after I got married.

When you get married in Vegas you get a certificate on the day but that's not the actual cert. You have to wait 2 weeks I think then you can apply online on the Clark County website to get a certified copy sent out to you. It's stamped and sealed and all that and costs $30 for two copies I think. You'll need that for getting passports if you're changing names and if you have babies in the future you need it for their passports.

That's the long and short of it really!
