Server Monitoring (Irish ISPs)

We have an account with pingdom which works great, but their pings are from random locations throughout the world. Is there a service in Ireland which would regularly ping from the main ISPs in Ireland? Would be invaluable to us to diagnose DNS/backbone problems if there was, and ultimately rule out issues on our app.

This morning we had 39 out of 40 clients in Ireland disconnect from our server (with Rackspace) for a period of 7 to 8 minutes between 8.24am and 8.33am. 1 client remained connected. pingdom reported no issues, Rackspace reported no issues, no server error logs, Netcraft reporting 100% uptime for Rackspace. Apache access indicates they just stopped connecting. There was a spike in global packet data loss for (roughly) the same time - http://www.internettrafficreport.com/ but it's not conclusive.

Can you modify you app so that if connectivity is lost it runs a ping test and tracert records the results and sends them to you when the app reconnects?

This may prove there is an issue with the clients connection.

That may well be the best solution.. although I was hoping an app change wouldn't be required!
