    Hi,

    I've just upgraded to a 4s. (It's charging as I type)

I want to do the following:

    1. Transfer everything from my old 3Gs to the 4s and then keep using the same iTunes setup.

    2. Give the 3Gs to my wife ready to use.

For 1. can I just simply connect the 4s when it's charged and will iTunes open with all the old stuff (Apps, music, photos etc...) ready to copy across to it?

For 2. I'd like to give her the phone with the Apps. Is this possible? Or can I only have them on one phone?

Also, I want to clear my text history on both the default text and EirText, as well as Mail history. How do I do this?

    Thanks.

    D.

    1. Sync iPhone 3GS while creating a backup (automatic).
    2. when finished, restore iPhone 3GS and activate as new phone.
    3. plug in iPhone 4
    4. activate from back up of 3GS.

Now you will have your 4 set up exactly as per your 3GS, ringtone, email, reminders etc etc and a 3GS that is completely empty and ready for a new owner.

    kceire,

    Thanks!

    Question......

How do I restore the 3Gs?

Can the same computer/iTunes be used for managing both phones?

Can the Apps I've paid for be used on both phones?

    Many thanks.

Connect your 3GS to your computer, hold power button and home button for 10 seconds, release power button until iTunes tells you there is a device in recovery mode, then just click restore.
