What is the difference between Italian and French roasted coffee ?

Is it different origins of bean or different roasting method or both or something else ?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_roasting#Determining_degree_of_roast

They're both roasted to with in and inch of their life.
Normally the beans will be oily and you'll have a taste of char from them, best to avoid usually.
