I was beginning to forget why I love the verminator so much. He'll make you bleed and won't give a f*ck and then bam! send a belter into the back of the net. You could see how much the goal meant to him. Great to see the big man back!

with regard Arsenal getting 3rd billing last week on PSS.

Programmes keep good games until the end of the show to keep the viewer viewing. If the viewer keeps viewing until the end - there is more viewers to view the good games. (and adverts leading up to the good game) ;)

Also for the CL - a Man utd game on RTE v's anybody gets more viewers than Barcelona.

    Money talks, i'm afraid

With regard AFC - 3 points off 4th aint bad considering how we started.
I'm not sure about PSS but MTOD always say how they play their games in order of interest. Arsenal was like 2nd last last night

A lot of people in the English game seem to dislike Arsenal :(

The Goetze one does have some credibility. I remember one of the more reputable hacks (Auclair possibly?) suggesting BVB were receptive of an Arsenal bid during the last window, but that Arsenal left it too late for a deal to be struck.

I'd prefer to see something come of the Podolski rumours though, he's quite similar to RVP in some respects, and can play on the left too so would be a great player to have in the squad.

Good move for him bad move for us IMO, we need strength in depth!
    We're too injury prone!

We still have coq were well covered great move for both parties

As regards hazard and gzote, both players best position is where ramsey is playing now, I think Ramsey is on his way too been world class, if we're gonna spend big I'd like us too improve other areas first

Hazard is just as competent as a RW

True but we have Walcott and chamberlain

Hazard or Gotze would play LW or RW if we signed them. I don't think we'll be signing an attacking CM for a long time.

Jovetic would be a great signing from I've seen of him. He seems to be recovering from his injury very well.

Why would anyone want Podolski? Hes barely good enough for the CL

    Based on what?

    Watching him play?

The Goetze deal will depend on Dortmund getting to the next round of the Champions League, if they do then there's no way in hell they would sell Goetze.

Why are we always linked with players in positions we are well covered for? We dont need a midfielder, we need a striker. Someone who, unlike Chamakh, knows what the goal looks like. If RVP misses any games, where are the goals going to come from?

At least we have Robin for CF, in the wide positions Gervinho is the best we have...

Park looks like he could be a useful backup for Robin, and I reckon Gervinho could probably fill in well enough there too.

Cesc just scored his 7th goal in 13 games for Barcelona.

Was just about to post about Fabregas  Love watching Barca play, but what really annoys me is the commentator always has to mention Arsenal whenever Fabregas makes a good pass or even scores !

Just said he scored his 7th goal in 13 games for Barcelona. And when with Arsenal only the odd one in 11 games

    its fair annoying haha

I'd like to see the stats of how many chances Arsenal and Barca create. Playing with arguably the best team of all time means he is naturally going to get more chances to score.

ya with the players around him its almost too easy haha :) they just keep having to remind us where they bought him from its headrecking hahaa :)

Imo ramsey is close/near enough to him in terms of vision and passing :)
Just looking foward to Wilshire coming back aswel

Cesc seems to almost be playing as a CF a lot of the time for Barca.

Are we really missing Cesc and Nasri that much though. We still create plenty of chances and score lots of goals. it's keeping them out that's been the problem. That said, 2 clean sheets in a row. Haven't conceded one since Verminator's reintroduction on 88mins against Chelsea.
I had to laugh at one of the panelists on RTE's Premier League show. He basically said that without van Persie, Vermaelen and Wilshere we aren't up to much. I wonder how many teams play as well when missing their 3 best players.

The defensive problems are related in part to the inability to break teams down. The more we go in search of a goal, the more men we throw forward (particularly the fullbacks), the more exposed we leave the centre backs. Though this is compounded by the total lack of pressing high up the field, meaning we're almost always reliant on the CBs to step out and break the moves down. In otherwords our defenders have more territory to cover than they would playing with other teams and are forced into taking more risks as a result.

It's been a flaw of Wenger's teams for the past few years, but with an in form Cesc and Nasri we were much better at retaining the ball in the opposition half than we are now.

It was a ridiculous thing to say. I was surprised at Cunningham, I know he's not the most insightful pundit but I never knew him to make such uninformed sweeping statements. The way he phrased it, it was as if he didn't know we'd been missing 2 of those 3 all season.

Didn't take city long to realise we f*cked them over with that one and drop him.

But for him though, yeah city will win stuff, but it doesn't count if all your team mates have to win it all for you.

A win means so much to the arsenal lads after their tough time and all the fans are feeding off their team spirit. And nasri making a nice arse groove in their sideline recliners makes it all the better. Ok city are top but no thanks to him.

I actually thought id be the other way around with cesc on the bench and nasri playing. How happy i am to be wrong.
