Parking permit for the quay

I'm living on the quay (around limeleaf) and I'm applying for a parking permit. The permit allows me 2 streets to park on, the quay is the first one, but I'm damned if I know of a good street which should act as a backup (which I'll probably need coming up to Christmas).

Anyone have any suggestions what I should put down for the second street?

I use to live around there and used The Mall as back up, there was a lot more parking on the Mall at the time, not too sure what the situation is now.

Yeah that's a tough one alright. Not much parking on any of the other streets around so I'd say that even with the reduced amount of parking on The Mall, that's your best bet. There are still a fair amount of spaces there. It's long too so you'd have a good chance of getting parking somewhere and there are a few alternative ways to get to where you live, depending on where you park.

avoid greyfriars like the plague anyway, never seen a parking situation as mental as this is now!

second that, avoid greyfriars, there is 2 construction sites there at the moment so even if you get one of the 3/4 spaces there, your car could be scratched or damaged by numerous reversing concrete/delivery trucks etc.

Thanks guys, looks like I'll go for The Mall.

What's the story with the parking lots on the quay in the evening? are they free/paid long term?
