    Hi All,

I am going to replace my EGR valve on my 1.6D 2005 S40 due to very very heavy smoke from exhaust and EGR faults logged. A fellow boards member has kindly sent me a very helpful guide on the removal for a peugeot engine which is the same engine as the S40 I believe.

Just before I start the replacement, what pipes etc must I clean out while I am doing this, and does the car need to know that a new valve is installed (ECU input?), I assume it doesn't.

    any advice appreciated, thanks.
