Anyway was driving back from Naas tesco towards Ballymore Eustace when a garda car speeding along the wrong side of the road rammed a car into a ditch 2 meters away from us. To avoid them we had to drive into the ditch on the other side of the road. Anyway the 2 garda in the car got out of their car and began shooting into the car they just ran off the road.. it was mad i couldn't believe my eyes. The car they were chasing just drove off towards naas. It was madness the garda car didn't even have their emergancy lights on we nearly ploughed into them.
    because of this.

Im very annoyed right now as if we had have seen the garda car even 1 second later we surely would have been dead right now. Don't these guards have to flash there lights when they're driving like lunatics? Madness

Since when did uniformed Gardaí in squad cars have guns?

I'd be claiming me some new pants and perhaps compensation to go toward some man sized nappies. If you DO get man sized nappies and sh1t yourself in the future, will you save them for me to sniff?

Since when does it say they were uniformed?

Only came across this thread now. Similar situation pulling out of my home estate a couple of weeks ago. Typical t-junction. I normally turn right towards town, but the wife asked me to pick something up, so turned left instead. Thank God I did.

I have about 150 - 200 metres unobstructed view to the right, and (hands up here) I cannot honestly say that I saw a car coming, or that it was a squad car with lights, but about two seconds after pulling out they were on my tail, horns and sirens blaring. If I had been turning right it was definitely goodnight.

When I got to where they were going, there were three other cars and a paddywagon there. I can't say for certain what speed the quad car was travelling at, but if I had 200 metres clear view (and in my mind thought it was safe to go) then I'll leave it to your own imagination.

There really is no need for that type of speed in a built-up area unless someone's life is threatened. i'm not one for knocking them normally, but this was overkill (no pun intended).

Was it my fault? I don't honestly know. I consider myself a very careful driver, always obeying speed limits, etc. Was it a lapse of concentration and attention? Possibly.

But I got some fright when I thought of what might have been afterwards.

If there were 4 squad cars and a paddy wagon do you not think it might have been something serious?

    OP
If you feel the Gardai's behaviour was unacceptably reckless and endangered your life, you could consider making a complaint to the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission
    http://www.gardaombudsman.ie/
Click on the complaints section and about half way down is a link to submit a complaint through an online form on the website.

(NOTE: I'm not a police basher, just that my dad works for the ombudsman and apparently traffic incidents are among the most common complaints they receive... I'm all for the Gards being able to speed if they absolutely need to, but there's a limit to how much reckless endangerment to innocent bystanders is actually acceptable imo)

"I'm not a police basher but ..." Ha ha did your daddy not make the force and take the next best thing ?

So they traveled 200 metres in 2 seconds. In that case they were traveling at 360kmph

Gunfire, car chases and drugs? Big deal. If you ask me, the biggest crime committed in connection with this thread is the awful grammar of the title.

It's my brother and I, not me and my brother.

What? No it's not. "My brother and me" is absolutely correct in this context. "I" only needs to be do where a verb follows or is missing as in "my brother and I were nearly killed" or "Who was nearly killed? My brother and I [were nearly killed]."

ETA: I noticed that it has been addressed by a couple of people. Still -- I blast your post with piss, Raskolnikov, with piss!

    WTF?

I hope you are joking! If not please post more seriously with more information. Its a pretty damn serious thing to say that the guards tracked you down and called to your house a number of times over a post you made on a forum.

    Thats what happens.

Guys apparently this is what happens. What ever you post on here you better be willing to stand over it and repeat it if asked to do so by a member of AGS.

Please explain more, did they have a problem with what you said, or the fact that you said it, or were they looking for witnesses or something?

In all fairness what you witnessed was something out of a hollywood movie, what the hell did they expect people to say about?

If I witnessed a gun fight in real life I'd tell everyone about it too and post about it online... jaysus
