I noticed PBS listed on Lyngsat. Website says it is launching tomorrow. http://www.pbs.co.uk/
    Anyone have any details?
PBS would be a welcome addition to the FTA line-up. They have a wealth of documentaries and drama in their archives.

Yes it would be a good addition to FTA.

But I think I remember reading somewhere on line that it wil be contracted to $ky.

The discussion over on DigitalSpy seems to say that it is part of a Sky package and will be on Channel 166. There's a slim possibility it might be FTA?
The Lyngsat listing for PBS (not the new PBS - UK) shows a 2 hours a day slot (02-04) on 12643H - must say I've never tried to find it. Anybody know what frequency the PBS-UK will be on?

Could be an interesting channel - I like their radio station - very measured, intelligent stuff - think Fox in reverse.

Could be on the same freq it was simple a test signal thats been running for the last few weeks, which is common for newly launched satellite channles to iron out any problems. It wont be FTA unfortunetly as it would have been a nice addition I think espeically as its based on the lines of BBC etc...

    Frequency: 12.110 H 27.5 2/3 and select 5500. It is encrypted.

The radio station is NPR, and I have to agree it is a great station.
Some of their programming (All things considered, car talk etc) is on WRN, on Sky 0122, and its also available on DAB on RTE choice. If I remember correctly there is a dedicated 24 hour NPR Berlin (In english) on either Astra 1 or Hotbird,.
For me its the net, WNYC, Minespta public radio or the dedicated NPR stream.
    great stuff:D

Well Sky 166 in Ireland is Information TV but at least you can store this through Other Channels...

Yeh I'm picking up PBS on a non-Sky box (not FTA) with no problem on frequency 12.110 - H - 27500 - 2/3, it shows as 5500. Current bit rate is 557KB/s

PBS - Public Broadcast station, a station you have to pay for, defeats the name of the channel if you ask me

Remember how once upon a time we had to pay to see BBC One on Sky? PBS doesn't seem to be FTA via satellite in the states either.
