Ariva 120 Combo arrived...

    I ordered the above off Tony in Satellite.ie yesterday afternoon and it has just arrived. Now, that's what I call excellent service.

    This is my first proper receiver in about 6 years. I previously bought a Strong 6355 off Tony back in 2005. I also have a couple of Bush HD Freesat Receivers.

    I'm looking forward to booting this up. Although I've had a Sony PlayTV for the last few years, it was always a pain to boot up the PS3 and wait till PlayTV loaded, only for it to freeze on a black screen. So much so, that I only used it for watching sport.

    Anyway, I'm sure I'll have some questions about the receiver, so expect to be annoyed (if I can't find the answers in another thread!)

    Right, back to reading the manual.

    yep got my new DIY kit,
    all up install and working
    great site there Tony, really helpful vids on setup and tips on alignment. a preview install took me 4 hours, this as only 45 mins with the tips and sat finder.
    Great product in the ariva/satellie combo.

    plays 720p mkv file as well as 1080i HDTV what more to ask fore

    There is a big thread on this box over in the terrestrial section. I know its a combo box but I don't think we need a thread on it in both sections.

    Just a quick question can you confirm that it plays back .mkv files in HD from an external hard drive ???
