went from earning 24,000,000 (basic) to earning 27,600,000 a year. Was also getting a guaranteed bonus of about 8,000,000 every year on top of my basic. I was also able to earn more working for myself on top of that.

Wasn't bad for less than 20 hours a week work. ;)

    yen?

Get a job teaching English in Korea. My old school will be hiring in march, they'll give you some money in return for your use of the English language and having a western face.

I'll earn just under 50% more this year compared to last year, same job. Take that recession.

Well on Friday, the company provided us with 4 cakes, and a box of Quality Street for Halloween. That's 1 cake more than last year, which is probably because of the 8 percent increase in revenue to $26.2 billion for the year.

That sounds like alot untill you read...
Microsoft reported net profit of $5.74 billion on revenues of $17.37 billion for the quarter ended September 30.

To be fair $26.2 billion still sounds a lot even after reading that :P

It's still nice looking at all those zeros on your atm screen, it's even nicer because there are some numbers before the zeros that mean you have money, unlike working at home

My wage for the year worked out at about 22k, which is a basic wage for most in Ireland. Take into account they paid my rent and my travel expenses to and from korea. The fact that living there is much cheaper than Ireland. Not to mention I lived on an island and was able to go to the beach for 3-4 hours before work from may to october, it was a nice job to have for someone with no debt.

Now, I'm back in Ireland. I had a job earning more than I did in Korea but was gradually losing money. Didn't make me feel too bad when they let me go.

The thing with Korea is, the cost of living is so low that you can live like a king on a very modest (for Ireland) salary. You normally get a free apartment and food is cheap, so almost all your salary is disposable income. My mates over there are able to go out all the time, drink as much as they want, eat out every day, go on weekend trips and still save money to send home. The lifestyle is brilliant.

My dream is to do freelance work and get paid UK/Ireland wages, but live in a cheap country. I earn pretty good money per hour here in London, but the cost of living is so ridiculous that I save almost nothing. You're happy when you check your online banking and see the figure on the screen, but then you pay you rent, council tax, internet and travelcard and realise there's fck all left.

I'm on poorish money at the moment and working for an outsourcer. Thing is, I've 12 years of customer service & tech support experience, how in the name of feck do I get a management job?

Was on the dole years ago getting 16 pound a week and then went out and got a job that paid 140 a week. Seems feck all but at the time (early 90's) felt like a millionaire. I'm on less than half the money now that i earned in 2001 how's that for career improvement. :pac:
