CD/DVD Drive cannot read any discs

My cd/dvd drive cannot read any discs, laptop is HP Compaq Presario R3000, cd/dvd drive is Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6252, HP says drivers are up to date, also tried MR Fixit at Microsoft, the latter concluded that the problem was unresolved. Any ideas welcome.:confused:

Clean the lazer head. Can get a disc for this

tried cleaning with cleaning disc that cost €19.99, no good
