LMFM host going after the financial elements to the candidates dealings and those of his former business... not a single mention of the envelopes or Morgan fuels yet, and there probably won't be.

    Wertz!

The link ain't workin for me, can you keep us posted please?
    Thanks.

It's probably swamped server. There will be a listen again button.

He's now saying that he resigned from smarthomes cos the company was moving to another business model and needed a more experienced MD (moving to energy saving devices)... probably where the new grants are coming on line.

As for Duffy owning it...possibly. Don't recall.

Going down the route of negative-free campaigning now and saying he has no party machine to help cavas and PR...not what I experienced last week when a team of youngsters arrived in people carriers for a door knock and leaflet drop.

Host has moved on to beach house consulting and THAT loan (it's still an accounting error)...BTW he doesn't have access to his old accounts in his office(!) In this day and age. Waffler.

He's used to interviewing Adams and the other local SF boyos....this guy is easy to corner.

On to the FF dinner and all that now.

Attempting a fillibuster and some diversion on the fund raising.
Another slightly altered version of that night in June...

    Stumble and mumble.

Playing the sympathy card about this fund raising being illegal...the real issue being that SG distanced himself from FF.
Dates of leaving FF now in question as mentioned in some independent article.

Oh he worked for Fr Dougal's dad... there's a joke in there somewhere.

On to his good work on state boards, quangos and his submitted legislation on sub contracting (which I fully support him on BTW and I feel he'll actualy get votes on the back of it).

Anyway that's it. Can't say he did too badly and he answered what was put to him, but nothing much we haven't heard before and still things to be cleared up IMO.

All that has really done is pushed aside a chat on the referendum which as I've said before is far more important than this duck hunt.

No mention of Morgan and the only mention of MMcG was about the debate itself. Reade isn't silly enough to flog that dead horse.

Ah and of course the usual shills start the texting in about partisan interviewing.

I heard the earlier interviews of all the other candidates on this show and he gave them all the same hard questioning for what it was worth.

The funniest bit of that was when Gallagher tried to differentiate between Soliciting Money and Fundraising....he seems to think that if you invite someone to a fundraiser it ain't soliciting. Seán is easily confused when it comes to money, sad to say. His supporters are generally amenable to an equal degree of confusion it seems :p

    Podcast link to Reade show
not up yet...first hour is funny when they try to find Seán after seemingly been told told Seán has no mobile phone any more. He borrows a phone and shows up early in the second hour.

Not really IMO...I think he had time constraints and better things to focus on... the whole envelop and Morgan fuels thing, whilst it made for interesting TV and as a catalyst for outing other issues, isn't as important as SG's continued meandering story on his relation to inner core FF and the issues surrounding the companies.

BTW kelticknight if Hugh Morgan is SF, why was he being invited to a FF fundraiser? Five grand is still five grand eh?

MY point is a person has a right not too say who they vote for and you should respect that right.

You know, the post that led to this fascinating sidetopic has nothing to do with asking who someone is voting for.
There is no box on the ballot paper marked "Cautious Vote".

A vote is a vote - there is no such thing as a cautious vote. If you're going to vote for this chancer, it means you think he is absolutely the best man for the job. Accept what you're doing, don't try to fudge it by saying you're being cautious.

It seemed to be saying 'If you are voting for someone, accept why you are voting for them, don't rationalise it as being a cautious punt'. They already said who they were voting for.

    Complete and utter rubbish.

If the details weren't correct then SG should have corrected MMG.

Instead he categorically said it never happened, only to then remember within minutes exactly who it was and the fact that they were a convicted criminal.

Your blind loyalty to SG - along with repeated attempts to deflect the discussion to MMG - is astonishing!

Even an SF supporter would be humbled by your level of whataboutery!

Here is an interesting blog written by Seán Gallagher where he does not lie.

    http://www.fiannafail.ie/blog/entry/dragons-den-star-sean-gallagher-on-the-ogra-fianna-fail-national-youth-conf/

Dragon’s Den star Sean Gallagher on the Ógra Fianna Fáil National Youth Conference
Posted on 15/11/09 by Sean Gallagher
Last night I had the honour of speaking at the Ógra Fianna Fáil National Youth Conference in Bundoran. It was a fun night, full of excitement as we watched the Ireland match unfold and as always with these occasions there was plenty of cheer and goodwill as the Ógra members celebrated another successful conference.

This wasn’t the first time I had attended a Fianna Fáil Youth Conference, back in the 1980s I was also a member of Ógra Fianna Fáil and served on the National Youth Committee. I think it’s fair to say that a lot of the lessons I learnt back then have stood to me over the years and have certainly helped me in my business career.

The thing about Ógra Fianna Fáil, and about politics in general, is that it teaches you all about people. It gives you great experience in meeting new people, making contacts and forming friendships. Any businessman, salesman or manager will tell you just how important those skills are. People are the foundations upon which any successful business operation is built and it is the relationships you form and how you foster them that will determine whether your business lives or dies.

I was also reminded of the other ways that my Ógra involvement has helped shape my career. It obviously thought me the fundamentals of public speaking, a skill that will stand to anyone who has to make presentations or pitches. You learn how to address an audience and to get your message across. That’s a skill that a lot of businesspeople I encounter still haven’t mastered – you only have to take a look at some of the presentations on the Dragon’s Den to see that.

There certainly was no shortage of dynamic young talent at the Ógra Fianna Fáil Conference. I came across so many impressive, confident and intelligent young men and women, busting with ideas. I was greatly encouraged that the political and business leaders of the future will certainly help move this country forward

    Nice piece Seán. :)

1 I have not been active in FF since 2008........ lie
    2 I bought a farm at 21............ lie
3 I never solicited donations at the 2008 cavan dinner........... lie
4 smarthomes is Irelands fastest growing technology company ....... lie
5 I have never hid my FF past ...........lie
    6 I am an independent candidate......lie

There are many more statements and accounts that I just don't believe

Charging 5000 euro to dish out advice gaa clubs is not community work
Taking huge salaries/fees/rents/royalties while a company is floundering is not entrepreneurial
Driving a business from 100 people to 20 is not job creation.
Changing the name of your company avoiding the payment of a grant is not good business
Taking a company loan in contravention of company law is illegal
Telling lies on live television is not presidential
