    Well folks,

Been cycling a while now and I'm starting to find a big improvement. I have been using a pair of NW Jet shoes with the recessed cleat and two sided pedals. Will a pair of specialised road shoes and pedals make a big difference.
I have a Giant Defy 3 and am averaging 30/32kmh over 2+ hours. I do find a good bit of lateral movement in the current shoes.
    Thanks in advance.

Unless you're actually racing, I'd say you're better off sticking with the SPDs. The SPD-SLs do give you a bigger platform and maybe a bit more stability but that is offset by the large cleat making walking difficult and the extra effort involved in lining up the pedal properly to clip in.

I do plan on doing a few races next year and I'm doing a few tri's as well. Think they might be the way to go.
