Recording from digital TV

I have recently bought a Panasonic LCD with Saorview. I get the English channels through a freeview dish which is tuned into the old sky box. Can I buy a device for recording programmes from the TV similar to a SKY+ box?

You can get them in any tv shop, usually a dvd player with hard drive recorder. Link
I happily used a Toshiba one for 4 years before I got UPC last year. It was basic, but I'm sure the tech is better on them now

What type of TV is it? Model Etc
I have a Panasonic which has a USB connection and I plug in a hard drive and it records whatever I want be it Saorview or Free to view satellite channels
No need for an extra box if it has this feature

Nonsense. There's no such thing as "a freeview dish" and you can't "tune" a dish (it's a lump of metal). :rolleyes:

OK, OK. If I had any knowledge about such matters I would hardly have posted in the first place. Sorry if I offended you as you seem very upset by all this. Thanks to everyone else for your help.

I think a usb connected hard drive could be the way to go, I would check with the TV instruction manual before purchase.
Not all dvd recorders may work with your TV, a dvd recorder with saorview/freeview HD compatiable tuner and a scart cable connected to ths satellite box would do the job.

Just to explain in case of any confusion:
Freeview = UK Digital terrestrial through an aerial.
Freesat= FTA UK Digital satellite through a dish.
