    Hi,

    I have a Toyota Starlet 1.3xli.

Went through a small bit of water last night due to flood. Maybe up to bottom of undercarraige. Car was fine this morning going to work.

On the way home went through a lesser amount of water - maybe half way the height of the undercarraige.

On the way home now it is starting to make a noise when I go above 35mph/60kph.

Can rev the engine fine without noise and brakes are not screeching.

Recorded the noise on my phone earlier from inside the car. Noise starts at the 12-13 second mark. Can hear it louder between 16-19 seconds.

It sounds like a scraping/grinding or like spinning a wheel that is rusty or something. Would it be just some sort of rust from going through the water?

    Thanks for any help/advice.

Rust doesn't develop that fast. Though there was probably a lot of dirt in the water you went through, I know my car, the alternator belt got wet cause it squeeked for a bit after. Don't know what that noise is, but if it's when you go through the gears, maybe some dirt on the cogs at that gear?

Speculation is all I got though, that noise is weird all the same!

maybe something stuck in your brake pads, or a wheel bearing?
Does it change if you clutch the car and coast, or when braking?

    Thanks
If I coast the noise is only there above 35mph but when it goes below that speed the noise goes. It kind of sounds like the bearings or something but I assume they are sealed normally?
