Close game which tilted heavily after Evans got sent off (deservedly, just to note).

After that, City know how to keep the ball and with players like Silva, Aguero and Balotelli you will nearly always be punished. Wouldn't of expected anything near this kind of outcome with 11 vs. 11, though City winning was a more than decent bet up to that point in any case. United goal might've was bit of a curse in retrospect as it meant we pushed even more and we were completely deflated by goal #4.

Overall, fair play to City, got their goal, stretched us, got a red card and were able to take advantage of that. Still, the top of the league is still going to be close come the end of the season.

Just though i'd highlight this bit!! Man U hammered at home by Man C 6-1, but it was a close game!!

Evans getting sent off was some sort of deciding factor?? Yeah, it might have only been three one, but Utd were gettimh taught a lesson all day long!!

The best part of Man Utd getting demolished 6-1 was when Man Utd got demolished 6-1

If it was a Liverpool cup final, you'd have been able to hear the fans when 3-0 down :pac:

He also took a horrendous dive in the first half.

Rooney appeared to take one too looking for a peno.

It's frustrating the way English players never get called on it in the media that is so quick to vilify the likes of Suarez, Ngog, Nani etc for the often milder offence of going down easy under actual fouls.

Typical example was the Liverpool/Utd game last week, Young & Downing take horrendous dives during the game but people are only really interested in criticising Suarez for his simulation, despite not taking a dive at all during the game.

    Very frustrating.

Al, Suarez dives!! Contact or not, Suarez dives! He decides to end up on the ground!! Get over it!!

there seems to be something missing against top quality teams IMO.

If only it were that simple, because United have been pretty shít by their standards for the last 7-8 games now. Regardless of whether it has been a big team or not. A missing midfield coupled by some incredibly incompetent defending, reached its natural conclusion with today's result.

You do know the score was 1-0 when evans got sent off? I'd call that a close scoreline at the time especially when united had more possession. Did you even see the game?

It was a close enough game before Evans made his howler. We won't know what would have happened if it was 11 v 11 but Ballotelli could have easily made it 2-0 if he wasn't pulled back.

What was interesting was the way Utd folded. It really could have been 10 or more. City were running through them at will. I saw bits of the QPR game and Chelsea had chances to level it up with 9 men. So what does that say about Utd? I've never seen them destroyed like that before. It will be interesting to see how they respond. IMO it's also a bit too early to be talking about City running away with the title, there's a long way to go yet.

Ahhhh I'm gutted still but City deserved it. No excuses due to the sending off. The minute City scored they were the better team and could have won by more :(

Everton game cannot come quick enough.

And to the poster who mentioned the 4 irish and a mongrel accent on sky news...it was 2 northern Ireland accents, and irish accent and a bury accent (or so I'm told by extremely gutted manc cousins). Not that it matters one fooking bit.

isnt it funny how aguero hardly gets a mention.....another goal yesterday but apparently it takes one year for foreign players to adjust to english football....i think he just makes mush of that theory.

Totally different situation. Firstly, Chelsea were playing QPR, UTD were playing City, a team with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of talent on it.

But yeah, it is rather depressing that they fell to pieces completely.

Torres did that in his first year at Liverpool.

That's a really silly comparison to make.
First off,do you rate QPR in the same class as city???
    Secondly,every game is different.
It wouldn't be unthinkable for City to be up against 10 man QPR and only scrape a 1 nil win, doesn't make QPR a better side than United.
That's really unbelievably stupid logic you're using there.

Well that was a bit shocking!

I watched the game, the first 20mins united had them pinned back but with all our possesion we didn't look like threatening!

Of course if you're city your aim coming to Old Trafford is to stifle the initial 20 mins, silence the crowd and take it from there, in a managerial sense it was spot on. Then they came out and played ball and pretty much dominated us from 30 mins to 90+.

I'm happy this happened, I truly am, it's sad it was against city, but this was coming im happy it happened sooner rather than later.

This exposes some serious weaknesses in our side.

I've stated I don't think ferdinand has the pace to play against the top teams in the premierleague any more and this was evident for all to see watching the game, the amount of times he stepped up to close down play only to fail at getting back into position was shocking.

Jones needs to be in there with VIDIC. I cant for the life of me understand how someone like evans was picked for that game yesterday.

If vidic wasn't match fit then at least put in jones, it's always been the case that vidic is the attacker and ferdinand is the reader of the game that sits back and cleans up on pure defensive positioning. Evans is weak coming forward winning balls and doesn't show any conviction, not to mention he looked so slow on the turn from ballotelli (sp) With jones there HE could have been the one stepping up instead of Rio and Rio sitting as jones would have had the pace to get back.

I really think we need to go out and get a left back and a TOP holding midfielder.

Every TOP team in europe has one that just sits and does hiis job, be it Barry, De Jong, Mikel, Busquets (sp) Alonso.

Somone that DEMANDS the ball off the defence and links play to the midfielders but allows the midfielders to have free reign.

We were shcoking, hats off to city.

Hopefully this gives us the kick up the ass we require.

You'll have to find another I'm afraid.

While i agree it was the wrong decision to send off Rodwell & that it was not even a foul really, it definitely wasn't a dive. Rodwell's right leg caught Suarez's right ankle.

    You can see the ankle bent over in this pic;

    http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/01/article-2043756-0E2BCCB700000578-992_634x340.jpg

So other examples? or do you want to retract your laughter at my entirely correct observation and perhaps admit that you yourself have 'fallen for' the xenophobic bull**** medias ****e talk?

cool story bro, but what a pile of rubbish.

If you honestly think he is not dived this season there is no point in talking.

and stop with the hardy man talk, it's childish to say least.
